Using hypnosis for health problems ?

Hello everybody, I would like to know if you believe that hypnosis is a good idea in health problem ? For example, would you accept to have a surgery intervention without anaesthetic but under hypnosis ? Does it work on everybody?

Do you think hypnosis can help people with diseases to get better ? For example someone who suffers from cancer ? Do you think it can help peopole who want to get rid of an addiction ?

A friend of mine had it for smoking cessation and it worked for a while but he started smoking again so I doubt how long term it is and wonder if you have to keep paying for it for it to really work.

Highly unreliable to have surgey under hypnosis.

However, you may well cure, or at least temporarily relieve, an addiction such as alcohol of smoking.

As for cancer – forget it.

My understanding is that hypnosis works best on psychologically-based problems such as addictions, minor compulsions, obsessive behaviour and so on...

It does not necessarily effect a cure, but it can produce behavioural changes which, if accompanined by meditation or consciousness techniques, could become permanent..

I doubt my ability to be hypnotised! I'd be so curious how they're doing it that I don't think I could go under.

My friend's son had it for anxiety....and for a while he was much better, but it wore off. Think you have to keep 'topping it up'. But you can't use it instead of anaesthetic, and a no to Cancer, too, as that is a medical condition, rather than a state of mind.

Its a different kind of hypnosis for healing. More of a healing energy meditation. The mind, body and soul are all connected and yes its been prooven tons that it is helpful. The clevland clinic and mayo clinic use it aling with normal health care.
