I have been getting e coli bacteria UTI'S for the past 3 months now, and I can't figure out why I keep getting them, As soon as I get rid of 1, in a week or so I have another, I am allerigic to Sulfar drugs so they have been giving me marcobid 100 mg every 12 hours, Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of it for good?
Do you drink enough water? Water is SO important to the urinary tract....and cranberry juice....try another bout of antibiotics and drink LOTS of fluids.
its not easy to drink alot...I know...I have a UTI right now and planned on drinking 2 bottles yesterday and barely did that!
Hi Ive just been given the all clear after almost 10 months and 9 different antibiotics.
I had every test you could think of inc CT scan ultrasonic scan and cystoscopy a multitude of blood and urine tests all but the urine were clear. I had the UTI within 3 days of the end of each dose of antibiotic. I was told that the only way to get rid was to double the usual dose for a hole month not a week and this was the top man at the hospital. first try it came back after 3/4 days this was trimathorprim so went to the next which I'd had for 3 days priviously this time 7 days was tried with nitrofurantoins and its cleared it and I'm now at 11 days and happy as Larry so to speak, so mention it to your doc as I did and let them try it youve got nothing to loose. Best of luck.
Hi - I would get recurring UTI's all the time. I had never gotten them before in my life then in my late 40's, I started getting them all the time. It was awful. I had been on antibiotics so much and it is not good to be on them long term. My doctor gave me macrobid to keep on hand so when I felt a UTI coming on, I could take one pill and hopefully that would keep me from getting one. It did work sometimes but sometimes it did not and I would end up on antibiotics for ten days and in miserable pain. I started reading about d-mannose and if your UTI is caused by e-coli, then you should consider trying it. Just mix a tsp of powder with water and drink it. I noticed that my urinary health has improved so much since taking it. I no longer have "irritable bladder" where I feel like I have to pee all the time, etc. even when I do not have a uti. Cranberry is actually a bladder irritant. Read about what irritates the bladder and stay away from that too. Try to get your urinary tract healthy again. As long as you stay on the antibiotics, it is a vicious cycle and it is never ending. I am 50 years old and the d-mannose has definitely worked for me. Can't say enough about it. Research it online. There are capsules too but I have read the powder works better. Hope you feel better soon.
Thank You for the info, I will look into it.
