I was wondering if anyone else has my symptoms. I've had reflux for about 6 years now and take omeperazole and gaviscon. Just lately I've been having pains in my left shoulder and under my arm with bad cramping pains. The doctor is sending me for a chest X-ray but he thinks it could my reflux and will send me for a scan when chest x ray comes back. However I seem to be really big arround my middle and really bloated. Today was especially bad - I'm huge. Has anyone else had these symptoms?
Yes, I get bloated in my upper-middle belly area. Also get pains under shoulder blades. I've also had chest xray, which didn't reveal much...

or irritable bowel. Try a fiber supplement and a probiotic. It takes fiber a good
5 to 6 weeks to regulate the movements
in your colon it keeps the colon wall
healthy. Helps if u have diverticulitis.
That may be something else if u t bloated and not passing gas or hear rumbling
or gas noises moving in your stomach
them I would talk to the dr about more testing. If ur pooping ok then it it isn't
irritable bowel but if u see blood get nauseated and have pain go to the dr.
Everyone should take fiber they think
it helps prevent colon polyps it definitely helps the Swiss cheese pouches in the colon (Diverticulosis) Keeps u from getting
more they can become inflamed but
try the fiber and probiotics

That makes sense gi girl. I am suffering ibs at the moment - I have lots of gas but no movement. Dr did give me a prescription for meberivine which I will start taking tomorrow. I do eat a lot of fibre but maybe not as much as I think.
My tummy is kinda flat in the morning but it begins to get bigger in the afternoon.And i think that's bloating. I tried all the exercises to help me lose that bulge there and i follow a good diet and no matter how i try to trim it it's always there. so many health issues for me apart from my worst Globus Sensation.And i also experience that pain on the shoulder which is relieved by massage and warm compress .
i just hope one day we will wake up free from these condition.
Try Metamucil or Fibercon
if u think your tummy is full
of air. Everybody living gets a bigger
tummy after u wake up. You are upright talking and eating taking in air
your belly will always bet bigger. If ur
constipated then the fiber regulated your colon and helps the symptoms of irritable bowel constipation and or diarrhea.

pouch. to worry about it is. called my big fat belly and butt. Unfortunately it
is fat not air. 
. I still take Fiber. I worked with GI drs for over 20 years.
They told all of their patients to take
fiber unless they were having nausea vomiting or problems swallowing
or really bad acid reflux.
I LOVE GAS EX IT IS THE GREATEST DRUG ON THE MARKET. I GET GAS PAINS THAT FEEL LIKE SOMEONE IS JUMPING oN MY STOMACH. It IS ONLY GAS BUT GAS EX IS A WONDER DRUG.

it is a great PPI. It works a lot
better then Omeprazole(Prilosec)
but u need a prescription for it.
Lately I have been trying to avoid soda pop sweets chips and eat softer
foods because I feel like crap. I worked in endoscopy for over 20 plus years never had a single stomach esophageal issue ever never my throat is on fire it sucks.
My drs office use to be great but they became part of Christ Hospital
Ohio. They have a clerk who answers the phone who is a witch a nasty woman who will not help you. If u really need help she tells you I will write your problem in the computer they may get back to you late the same day.
I needed a referral since last week to get this test she will put U on hold so u go away or will dump u in a voicemailthat nobody will get till the next day or hang up on you. She had me do upset today that I drove to my drs office walked in and starting crying because I hurt so bad and was so upset. There was a room full of patients I said I was in pain I was tired of being hung up on and having chest pain and Debbie will not help me. I need a written referral. You should have seen the look on her face. I got exactly what I needed and just vented to one of the nicer staff how mean Debbie is. I only live 5 minutes from the office. I looked at her and said I can barely swallow and u just don't give a crap. From now on I am going to be driving to my drs office till they fire this person or she stops hanging up on people who need help,
Well done GI Girl.That Debbie or whatever kind of person she is is not helping you in any way. She must retrain or go to other doctor's offices where patients would most likely complain more about her. My sister always experience that as well she's in Illinois.It's either the answering machine or the very cold receptionist she would deal with. She can't get upset at all because she would be under her mercy to get an appointment.Maybe she's no longer happy with her job .
Have you tried going to A & E straightaway? I think you'll also get to play the waiting game depending on the severity of your case.
One of the person I came across with who is much knowledgable than some of the DRs was the chemist who explained to me all about Vit B12.I can't help but compare, I would consult Dr.Google prior to an appointment with the Dr so more or less I am backed up with questions that I can clarify for my own peace of mind. I even wrote down all my questions .To cut the story short 30 mins appointment with the dr wherein I already knew some of the answers vs. 10 mins vs talk to the chemist explaining to me my condition and how this Vit B 12 could possibly help me.Maybe it was her gift of the gab,but i am really buying this Vit B12 even without her telling me its indications. Point is ,she knew exactly what she's talking about and she practically discussed and covered most of the points.

But my drs office has gone down Hill. What is an A&E. As far as Vitamin B12 u can get Esophagitis if u do not
have enough vitamin b 12 I would take a vitamin b 12 supplement if it doesn't bother your throat or digestion. My dr is fine but he is really too busy to know how the staff is acting that is why I finally just went
to the office. I complained to the office manager who never answers
either. I am tired of this witch and I am going to start fighting back Thanks
Snap my doctor prescribed that for me last week. I have not taken any yet. Re fibre he said that you can eat too much of it and to make sure I keep my liquid intake up. I do but then have to get up several times during the night:-)
After working in endoscopy why not have one rather than a barium swallow?
I did once have one in 1983 but would not have another as I can choke just cleaning my teeth. My uncle who had angina went into cardiac arrest and died during his as did a doctor at the last practice I went to. Now I only have a Barium Swallow my Doctor (who also would not fancy having one) said that there is now a CT scan you can have instead.
