Varying pain

I was diagnosed with arthritis some years back but only told to take paracetemol regularly to control pain.  Does anyone have the same problem as me in that some days I ache in my upper limbs, then it might be my back, always in my feet in varying degrees of pain and my hands too.  I never know what to expect when I get out of bed.  I might be quite able to do most things one day and the next hardly able to walk.

It depends on what sort of arthritis you have.  You could ask your GP to refer you to rheumatology as they specialise in all types.  I believe with general wear and tear it's painkillers and anti inflam meds. But for destructive types of arthritis you'd need a lot more care than just paracetamol and this clearly isn't working for you right now. Hope they can help you x

I have been confirmed as having rheumatoid arthritis, some time ago now.  It has been getting progressively worse over time and as I said some days is so debilatating and others not so bad.  The odd thing I find is that is shows itself in different parts of my body from one day to another.  Recently spoke to my doctor and she just said take 2 paracetemols 4 times a day.  I am trying the apple cider drink too???

Is your doctor qualified to treat rheumatoid arthritis, it is generally a rheumatology consultant, not a general practitioner that would treat this, from what I understand it is a destructive autoimmune disease and while painkillers help with "flare ups" they do not treat the whole disease.  While I'm not saying your on the wrong meds, I am saying either ask to be referred to a specialist or ask to change specialists as I feel your doctor is under treating you or not qualified to treat you, good luck x
