Hi everyone , I have been on venlafaxine for many years 300mg , I am interested to know if anyone else has increased sweating ? I do but I am also on a lot of other meds so I am trying to figure out what is causing it ,any help would be appreciated.
Hi Emma. I take 300 mg venlafaxine and 15 mg mirtazapine and I do sweat quite a bit sometimes. I do prefer cooler temperatures anyway and have for a few years now. Sweating is listed as one of the side effects of venlafaxine, so it likely is at least partly responsible for your increased sweating. I have been doing so well that to me it is worth it to be happy.
I've been on venlafaxine for a couple of years at 150mg.
Two months ago I was put up to 300mg and more recently to 375mg.
At first I thought I was having hot flushes but they last too long. They can last for an hour or more. Some days they are almost non stop. The sweat drops off of my hair and nose, my clothes are soaking and my glasses steam up. I'm also on Trazadone which also has sweating as a side effect.
Hiya emma31623 I am on 150mg of venlafaxine and I've only been on them 3 weeks now but noticed an increase in sweating it is listed as a side effect I wouldn't worry to much about it x
Hi thanks all for your replies , I'm really struggling with the sweating but coming off venlafaxine is not an option for me so I think a discussion with docs is needed as I have heard of some meds that can help with sweating but as of yet I do not know enough about them x🤔
Bizarrely, venlafaxine is supposed to help with menopausal hot flushes. I first used it several years ago to combat the hot flushes my breast cancer medication gave me - it didn't work for me.
