For 3 weeks now iv been felling terrible pins&needles and cold sweats fell as though something is about to happen to me like a stroke or a heat attack.
I've been to my local GP about this I've also made a trio to A&E with this my UP says it's bad anxiety and has put me on ant depresents.
Can anyone help with This??
Hi. This does sound like classic anxiety symptoms. Hang on in with the meds. They take time to work. Also try deep breathing and mindfulness. YouTube has lots of videos to help you out. Stay in touch with your Dr as you may feels worse and suffer side effects. Everyone is different though. Maybe consider therapy too. Good luck
Thanks never felt like this ever fell like a ticking time bomb also fell like everything is so big and hard.
I know how truly awful it is. Just take each hour by hour as it comes. Try not to think too far ahead. Think of it like you have had an operation. You need time to rest and heal. It's not going to be quick but stay in touch on here as I found it a lifesaver when I had really bad days.
Also been having pins and needles in my arms and legs and face like a burning type very scary
Yes the pins and needles are horrible. It also feels.like your veins are on fire. It's the adrenaline pumping through your body as your brain goes into the fight or flight mode. It will improve but until it does I found if I got up and did something or went for a walk it would help a little
Thanks Joanne I'm only 36 years old horrible this felling fell as though I'm at my witts end
I was a similar age when I had my first treatment for it. I was well.for about 5 years I came of the meds and within a year I randomly suffered again. You will get better but just be patient. Try not to overthink it and do as much normal stuff as you can. Also do what makes you feel safe and comfortable while you are getting used to the meds. What anti depressant are you on??
Also getting burning sensation in my head aswell.
Citalopram
Sit back and listen to some really calm music or sounds that make you feel nice. Close your eyes and breath slowly and properly. Let your whole body go limp and relaxed and know that nothing bad will happen in that moment. Just listen to the music\sounds...
For me I like the sound of waves crashing against a wooden boat.
Another thing is to watch your posture...anxiety causes us to hunch which is not good for getting oxygen around your body...might help with the tinglys. Try to think in 10 minute increments only...don't think of anything happening any more then 10 minutes from now.
Last tip grab a rubber band and put it around your wrist, when you have a bad thought about having a stroke or heart attack snap the rubberband on your wrist to bring you back to being mindful (10 minute increment thoughts) hope some of this helps.
Thanks a will try anything or this to go away
I can't promise it'll go away, I've been doing this stuff for about 2 months now and it helps but I'm still anxious. I started having the same type of thoughts as you in October...I got to the point I was afraid to use the washroom because I was afraid of a stroke or heart attack. Doing what I told you has helped me get back to work and to get rid of that fear. I'm 30 years old I know how you feel. This may take some time to heal, if you're like me you've probably been stressed for too long and now you need to decompress. I was working full time and doing college courses at night for a year and a half and anxiety hit me like a brick.
Good luck David and let me know if you need any advice or any help.
I'm on the same. All very common side effects
Hi again Joanne today aye have Ben really bad a mean in the last half hour I've had a burning sensation as if someone has set fire inside me and I'm burning inside is this normal ??
At my worst I was the same. Very jittery and couldn't sit still. Speak to your Dr. I had diazepam for 2 weeks and it was a massive help. It's not for everyone and some people hate them but I managed ok with mine. I would give them a call. Lots of options. Take care
