I'm so glad that you are doing much better. I wish in the beginning I should have started low on vitamin d like you and took magnesium and a multivitamin. Instead of the 50,000k the doctor gave me and not knowing that I was already low on other minerals and vitamins, it was a disaster.
Now trying to replete my magnesium has been the most difficult, once it hits rock bottom.
It's good to hear from people who have gotten better on vitamin d without the horrible side effects that it can cause.
Hi I just wanted to ask how you are doing? I was also diagnosed with vitamin d deficiency in october 2017 , my level was 10ng /ml . I had the same test done as you but everything was normal . My doctor prescribed me 60000 iu d3 once a week , I took it for 4 weeks and couldn't take it anymore as it was so painful but now since not taking d3 for two weeks I feel like my bones are going to break it's so bad. And I can't find magnesium and lower dose vitamin d 3 anywhere I live , and the doctors I have seen aren't helpful at all, what do you think I should do continue with high dose vitamin d 3? I was also taking calcium with d3.
Hi Taro,
I recovered successfully from Vit D deficiency. My Symptoms were fatigure muscle weakness and lack of interest.
But i recovered successfully. You would also don't worry it takes around 6 months to fully get out of it.
Vitamin d will pull calcium from your bones and raise your blood calcium, that's why your bone hurts. Very important to take vitamin k2 to put back the calcium where it belongs.
Try magnesium oil spray or foot soak in magnesium chloride flakes 4-5 times a week depending how deficient you are. As for vitamin d, if it makes you feel bad stop taking it and talk to your gp. Some people cannot tolerate vitamin d.
I hope you feel better soon.
Hi sunny,
its better to take 10.000 iu /day , with magnesium 400 mg, and Vitamin k2 (mk7) 100mcg... try to order from the internet...
now i feel better... still have some headache and weakness.. but no dizziness and no palpitation.. generally i feel better
Hi
I've read about your vd deficiency. Same happened to me, doctor found 16 on my blood test. He prescribed 250.000iu d3 for 3 months ( 1 each mth) my questions for you since you have experience are the following:
1- how long it take for the supplement to take effect because iv just finished the last one 2 weeks ago.
2- could I top it up with daily supplement of 1000iu from now on
3- when to retest to check vd level
I would really appreciate if you or anyone answer these questions and any suggestions regarding the subject. Cheers

U guys have problem in sitting?
i cnt sit for long...
i totally hate this
Yes sitting, standing... OMG the fatigue its unbelievable almost 2 months 10.000 UI day very slow progress...
I was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency after having all fasting bloods done. At the time I was depressed and anxious for no reason. Constant aches and pains, restless leg & brain fog. I was prescribed a high dose of the cholecalciferol for 7 weeks but after taking it for about a week I felt terrible so I stopped it. I am very wary about taking anything that's not produced naturally. I done my own research online. Decided the best I could get was Together Vitamin D3 with metabolites from Holland & Barrett (28 day supply) and I take 1 a day with Together Magnesium which I take 2 a day (I get 2 lots of this 28 day supply). I never miss them & in the summer I try to get about 20 minutes sunshine a day if possible. It took a couple of month but I felt and still feel much better. Only thing I still get is brain fog but I can live with that. I think il be taking these the rest of my life. I'm in my mid 50s now.
Can I ask how you are now? I’m newly diagnosed and just found your thread. Can’t imagine ever feeling better.
cAs soon as I stopped I felt much better and the doctor said that the course shortened to six from ten weeks had probably done the trick. She then sent me to a neurologist . I had ten blood tests a head MRI scan and electrical tests as well as having to take three vitamin B compound strong pills a day. When I had an appointment with him to get the results he said they showed there was nothing wrong with me and said hr will organize a physiotherapist to visit me with an exercise programme. Personally I think that it has something to do with being seventy. Look at how many people have walking sticks when next in the high street. I rather wish I had not seen the doctor in the first place but it was on the orders of my wife who came with me.. Hope that you get better soon. The vitamin B pills are having no bad side affect but they are not super high dosage. Rhodri
I am in the same boat right now. I feel horrible. Been taking 50,000ius for about 7weeks now but in the meantime been put anxiety meds but i quit taking them. Its like poison.
Hi
I have just been diagnosed with extremely low vitamin D 3 weeks ago I have pain in shoulder neck collar bone and right arm I also feel very down had a horrible night hardly slept had pain in between shoulder blades and ribs I'm taking 25000IU per fortnight also cocodomol hope to hear I will get better
Hello everyone,
I too have discovered I have a vitamin d deficiency along with a folate deficiency too. My readings at this time are vitamin d level 45nmol/L which I think converts to 18 ng/ml and folate level of 2.4 ug/L which should be between 5.4 -24.
It all started last October 2017, I was having pain in my tummy and IBS symptoms so visited my Gp who wanted to test for inflamitory bowel disease through a stool sample. My sample came back positive for inflammation so I was referred to a specialist , who said the inlfammation could be fron an old tummy bug but ordered a colonoscopy to have a look. During the colonoscopy it was clear there was a little inflammation present. Biopsies were done and treatment for the inflammation was given. 3 weeks later I returned to see the specialist for the results to be told everything was fine and the inflammation was due to the bowel prep I had to take before the procedure and was happy everything was ok.
During this time over the three months I was back and forth to my Gp as I was feeling so unwell. I was very fatigued, dizzy, blurred vision, back pain, severe neck/ shoulder / collar bone pain, joint pain , headaches, night sweats , feeling very anxious , internal shakes when relaxing , poor sleep, tight chest, tummy troubles... the list is endless! I feel so worried and unwell. My doctor ordered complete blood test where the vitamin d and folate deficiency was detected. As I never get to see the same Gp from my surgery when I was called back last week to discuss some form of supplements she opened a new can of worms! She informed me that the same specialist I was seeing had mis diagnosed her son for inflamitory bowel disease, so said my deficiency could maybe caused from that (if I have been mis diagnosed). Or just have a deficiency.
My question is has anyone else had similar symptoms to me?
The Gp has prescribed 20,000 unit of colecalciferol of which I have to take 2 a month and have a 3 month course and one daily 5mg of folic acid for 3 months. Do I need to be taking any other suppliments along with these.? I started to feel a little better at first but today feel weak again. I understand it's a long process but I am just finding it very hard to juggle family life ,work and a toddler!
Sorry for the long story, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
I have been unable to sit or stand and ended up in hospital they thought I had slipped a disk the pain was so bad. After millions of blood tests it's vit d deficiency. My score was 14 which is really low, I am active and eat well so no idea how this even happened. I have been started on Vit D once a week. My legs are very painful and I am walking with crutches. Hope your feeling better x
Hi I have just been diagnosed too my score for vit d was 14 and I was in hospital for a few weeks. I was in so much pain they thought I had slipped a disk or something. I am on vit d once a week and on morphine. I am in agony and worried this will never end. I also fall asleep at random times and can not remember things. I am also worried about work.
