Can anyone help I've just had a blood test due to lots of pains in my joint. My results came back that my vitamin d is low and I was told I've to av 20 000 tablet twice a week for eight weeks then I need 1000 per day how low do u think my vitamin d is?
Why don’t you ask for the results from your doctor? I get copies of all my blood tests. Below 25 is considered vit D deficient. 26-50 is considered lacking in vitamin D and above that is OK although some people say you should be over 70. My initial blood test was 26.
I’ve been told to take 20000iu once a day for 7 days and then once a week after that, I’m scared this is too high

I would suggest a Vitamin D test to get a clear picture. Our body requires vitamin D for absorbing calcium at the time of digestion. It also helps maintain normal levels of phosphates and calcium in the blood, which are required by the processes which make bones healthy. This vitamin is essential for muscle function, cell growth, reducing inflammation and fighting infection. Studies have even found that Vitamin D Deficiency is Linked to Type 2 Diabetes. So it is always beneficial to improve the vitamin D level.
