Good Morning great people! I am thinking about weaning off my celexa and trying to go naturally. I just wanted to know if anyone has ever done this and had success. I just dont like how the celexa makes me feel always numb and I havent not had brain fog for like 2 years now and I have no clarity when thinking. I want to make the weaning stage probably a couple months so I don't have any crazy side effects. Any tips or information that would help would be awesome. Thank you!
I'm honestly not exactly sure how it's going to go for you, clearly it is possible but I'm VERY subjective about the brain altering drugs.. Like, it's kind of sick if you think about it. Man made chemicals releasing into your brain causing it to perform un-naturally. Now you're going to quit it and your brain is going to think "Hm, where'd that numb pill go that I've been used to for 2 years now"? I really dont understand how doctors or anyone thinks it's cool to take these unless you plan on being on them literally the rest of your entire life. and even then, its sick. I dont mean to cause any anxiety from this post but it's my opinion on the matter. I unfortunately seriously suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks but after years of it, I've broken down. My appointment is on the 20th... Say goodbye to this "me". As the SSRI which I guarantee the doctor is going to prescribe me based on looking at a piece of paper and diagnosing me on spot with his master degree apparently by looking at check boxes, I get to numb myself as well.
Good morning kevin ! I wish you the best with weaning . Talk to your doctor , they will be able to help you with this process . While you are at it have him check your vitamin D levels as low levels causes anxiety , keep us updated !
Hi Kevin From my own experience, currently down to 5mg from 10mg over a period of 7 months, do it very very slowly. I still haven't stabilised on the lower dose, getting all sorts of horrible symptoms. If I were you I'd wait until after Christmas otherwise, if you do get withdrawal symptoms it will certainly ruin your Christmas. Take a look at the citalopram forum particularly messages from Katecogs, she's brilliant on this subject.
awesome thank you I'll check that forum out
I definitely will thank you!
