Hi Im 7 weeks post op and yest I had some weeping in 2 places on my scar at the bottom. 2 pin prick size holes appeared and there was a TINY bit of infection col but then mainly clear seepage. Has anyone had this?? Im not overly worried as its not a thick green discharge??? Does anyone think its pressure or anything or has anyone ANY advice??? Thank you x x

Hi Andrea,  if it were me I would go straight to the docs.  Anything weeping needs attention.

I did think about that but I hate pestering folks if I got there and he said oooo its nowt id feel bad if you no what I mean??? Hek theres always something sue!!!!!

Straight to gp as soon as possible as it could be an infection get it swabbed, perhaps you need antibiotics,

Hi Andrea,

I had holes and weeping in my scar. For me it was internal stitches poking through so I had to have them trimmed. If weeping is clear I was told its your bodies way of cleaning the wound. Best to get it checked though. I have to go to a clinic at the hospital for anything to do with my wound rather than the gp, maybe check if you have access to something like that? If not why not see the practice nurse? Better to be safe x

I have had clear seepage from my wound from about day 5(I am 3 week post op)I saw the practice nurse who said that as long as the discharge remained clear then there was no need to worry, but that anything more needed to be seen by the doctor so I guess thats your answer,the last thing you need at 7 week is an infection so please please if you have any doubt get it looked at. Best wishes

Possible infection....it's the very last thing you want, go to the doctor immediately. He will most likely give you antibiotics.

I read on Dr Google that any infections, skin, urinary tract etc needs immediate medical attention for the rest of our lives after tkr (respitory infections flu and colds not included). If the infection spreads into the blood system it can be disastrous for the knee replacement. I was told about dental treatment,  but nothing else.

We should be given more information regarding after care.

Andrea, Hope you've been to the Dr's today. Stop worrying about pestering! It's better to be safe than sorry. I had an infection whilst in hospital after my 2nd TKR and ended up having another op. Not trying to panic you but think about yourself in this situation. Best Wishes.

Hi poll and everyone else who replied to my weeping scar. I DIDN'T have to go to docs as soon as I rang and explained the receptionist got a doc to ring me back and he issued anti biotic s straight away . So thanks for everyones advice im glad I did it now x x
