Weird pressure in head

Hi, all. I've struggled with severe anxiety for years, coupled with bouts of depression. Does anyone get odd feelings of pressure in your head, either on the bridge of your nose or the side of your head at the temples and feel as if you're in a vacuum? It's almost as if someone is taking their thumb and pushing from the inside out. It's very distressing and comes out of nowhere, even when I feel relaxed. I've had a brain MRI and at least three EKGs over the past several years. All were normal. The neurologist says I show no signs of stroke, MS, etc. My GP has listened to my heart multiple times. I feel as if my head is "heavy," yet detached from my body when this happens and it makes the anxiety worse. Thank you.

please don’t worry about this. Head pressure is extremely common with anxiety and stress. If I had a nickel for every time I had that head pressure I’d be a millionaire! I’ve had anxiety and stress my whole life. Actually when I was in my 20s I had the head pressure suddenly come on along with several other symptoms of anxiety. I was scared but everything came out normal.
Just to let you know I’m in my 50s now and I’m fine! so you will be too! I still get occasional pressure in my head but it doesn’t worry me because I know it’s from the anxiety and stress. I don’t get it nearly like I did when I was younger.
they are called stress headaches or tension headaches and they can feel weird.
But especially since you’ve had testing, you can totally relax! Actually, if you have somebody that can give you a neck or head massage, it really helps!
Another thing is see if you can bring down your stress level by trying different things such as meditation that you can find on YouTube for anxiety, speaking with a counselor, taking time out for yourself to just relax and deep breathe.
One thing I learned in life is that the things I worried about never happened. So I don’t take life so seriously. Everything works out somehow. I also learned to laugh more and just enjoy each day! Glad you’re OK!

Thank you so much jan34534. That is reassuring. I turned 50 last year, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke…I’m thinking I should feel much better than I do at this point. The first time I noticed these symptoms was around 2013. They eventually went away almost magically, but now they’re back and it makes it hard to feel “normal.” I forgot to mention I have bouts of dizziness, sometimes just sitting still at a traffic light on roads I’ve travelled a million times. I went to an ENT for this several years ago as well. Doctors are never able to find a cause. Thanks again for your feedback. Cheers.
