weird sharp pains in lower right of tummy?

Ive been gettiing weird sharp shooting pain in my lower right of abdomen that come and go since 7am this morning. Can this happen if your backed up or something else? Im not in agony but is annoying! Anyone else had this?

Its now 6pm and still getting the weird sharp pains..........very strange.

thays the area of your appendix. Get it checked out. Appendix issues can be life threatening.

lower right abdomen is usually considered an emergency ans you need to go to the er bc it could be your appendix which, if it bursts, could fet VERY serious FAST.

Im not in agony so dont think its my appendix and getting no other symptom. Im 35 , am i not too old to get appendicitis?

I would try a trapped wind remedy also have a chat with the pharmacist, if the pain persists check in with your doctor....if it is your appendix it will not start with raging pain, it will progress to raging pain.....

Anyone can get this every once in a while. It is usually gas. Try simethicone anti-gas tablets. No prescription needed. If no relief, seek medical help.

Under 2 years of age very unusual to get appendicitis...and is common up to 30 years of age...initially you get pain, nausea, lack of appetite, and high temperature.....

Also, you may have an ovarian cyst. You may need an Ultrasound Scan to get it checked .....

no. appendix is a body part that can get irritated and infected. its not really age related.

also: gas pain doesn't last this long.

speaking as someone in medicine, some of these theories are just gonna scare you....and r unlikely...but if after all this you're still in pain u have 2 options:

  1. see your doc, who will order an ultrasound or something and itll take a week to find out whats in there or more.
  2. go to the er and they'll run the tests.
  3. i do not rec these sites bc ppl give scary & bad advice. instead, when unsure what to do --> you need to call your doctors office and ASK THEM what to do. THEY know your case....and that is vitally important but so is the fact that they actually know what they're doing. Commenters here are often throwing any old possibility out there. (like gas pain which doesn't last this long...) instead of knowing how to rule things in or out based on what questions to ask.

seriously, just call your doc as soon as theyre open next.

if you get worse, spike a fever or get more symptoms you should to go to the ER. and if it gets severe at all --> do not "wait and see." not if it gets severe OR if you have a fever over 100.

Gas pain doesn't last over 15 hours. Gas moves.

gas will move in far less time than this. if it cant get through 1 way it'll go another.

We replied to vonnie shortly after her post, the members who replied were just trying to help with suggestions not diagnose her. It was over 15 hrs ago when vonnie posted and perhaps the pain has now gone or it could be worse there has been no further posting from her. The forum is here for that purpose to try and help and certainly not 'scare.' It could well have been trapped wind at the time of vonnie posting and obviously not now 16 hours later....her pain may have stopped now she may post later...m

Do feel any sensations of stools being backed up in your bowel?
