Just curious to know. I literally changed overnight at 40. Im 46 and feeling worse than ever these days.
Hi mine was around 48/49 so maybe the norm lol, it’s been over 4 yrs for me now, and I think for me the last two years have been the worse... I do feel for you going through this at a early age, it’s bad enough now 🤗x
I will say 45 for me and test , X-rays , MRI’s , CT scan, blood work for anything and Amd is all normal . for the first time I have a doctor that is test me for hormones last week . My period still coming but is irregular. Hopefully I get answer because I have a new symptom for the past 2 months and is very scary heart palpitations and heart racing while I’m sleeping
I am now 48, I started 2 years ago but I feel that now my symptoms are worse and more issues coming up on top of everything I already deal with. I am also a breast cancer survivor so I'm am limited to what I can use to balance hormones
Hard to say, all i know is the perimenopause for me sheer hell but i never realised what was happening to me. With me it was feeling unwell, and the discomfort in the bladder and the urethra. Felt like my insides were literally turning inside out, heavy long lasting periods but with often only a weeks break in between. I was approx 45 when this all started, I had breast cysts keep developing as well in my 40s. What other symptoms have you got? Im now 66, it does get better. never had any HRT either.
Hi Sarah, I’m new to this group and to the menopause. I’m 55 and had a hysterectomy 14 years ago but left one healthy ovary. I’ve been fine upto 2 months ago when I started having really bad palpitations and mood swings and feeling really low, I also have really bad itchy skin, I went to see my gp and had loads of tests including a ECG , my blood results shown my ovary had stopped working and was going through the menopause, was a little relieved to be fair as was thinking all sorts, she’s started me on HRT 3 weeks ago and I feel worse then ever,
Sandy.
I was 43. I am 45 now. Some symptoms are better, but i have different ones to worry about now.
Hi im 51 now and the last 2 years were the worse for me. I too wasnt sure what was happening with all these weird symptoms i was experiencing (that no one else seemed to have) until about 2 years ago when my periods went from small bleeds to floods then i realiased it was to do with menopause. But overall they are improving i think!!
Hi Susan...sorry youre also having a bad time. It would be easier to list the symptoms I DON'T have!!
I get a symptom or 3 and then it subsides and more appear. Had loads of various tests all showing 'normal. I feel unwell most of the time and now have severe health anxiety. When I do get an odd good day I feel great but always in the back of my mind Im waiting to feel bad again.
My sister is 10 years older and had no symptoms at all!
As much as its awful for us on here it does help knowing you arent alone x
I’m 46 and would say it started for me at about 43. I started having panic attacks that year and a couple of other symptoms. In 2016, I had to have an ovary removed, along with cervical and uterine polyps; all was benign. Lots of new symptoms appeared the year before the surgery and got much worse afterward. Now, some of them are gone and I’m working hard to improve diet and exercise, which I’d neglected for about 4 years after a traumatic car crash, peri onset, and family problems. It is helping.
Hi, Sarah,
I started peri when I was about 42. I just turned 47. The symptoms (and I've suffered nearly all of them) continued to get worse over the last few years. I just try to deal with each symtom as it arises on a day by day basis. It's really tough and I completely understand. --Big Hugs, Sarah
Hi, Sarah.
I think I was about 41. I have had just about every symptom on the list of 66 symptoms of menopause.
Some come and go. Sometimes a new symptom pops up.
It is the worst!
Tracy
Oh, last spring the menopause symptoms hit me hard overnight as well. I had been having only mild symptoms since age 41. But last May... BAM! It hit me hard. Anxiety, racing heart, crying, anger, looking in the mirror and not even recognizing myself, insomnia, confusion. It was awful!
I left my husband and lived with my sister for 3 months until I felt better.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicine and homeopathy have helped me.
I hope you feel better soon.
Tracy
Hey Sarah, everything just started for me this past year before I turned 41. Started with adrenaline surges and heart racing when trying to fall asleep. Then I woke up one morning with entire right arm hurting for no reason! It still hurts but some days it feels better. I also felt an internal shakiness. All of this led to a panic attack which I've never had in my life. I dealt with bad health anxiety. I have gotten some better over the past 4 months. The main things that help are: #1 staying off the Internet. #2 progesterone cream. The cream seems to help my overall anxiety. Anyways, I hope you get feeling better. My sister is 6 yrs older than me and she ain't feeling half this stuff. It sucks that we are so young to be starting this crud!! Ugh!! I want my old (young, energetic) self back!
Good luck!!
I wanted to say that I had never dealt with any kind of anxiety before this all started. And before my cycle starts everything is intensified and I feel awful!
Hi Tracy
Sounds like you've also had a bad time. I feel like hiding away from everyone til this whole thing passes! Hard to carry on when everyone relies on you though.
Hugs x
Hi there Kelle
Yes Im the same. Never had anxiety til this started. Now Im permanently anxious and google constantly. I must try to stop as it doesnt help at all.
Hugs to you x
Sarah, there is a Facebook group called power surge that is pretty helpful. I post on there sometimes but other than that I stay off the Internet. It hasn't brought me nothing but grief!!
Yes, exactly.
I don't have any children so I was able to be away from home until I recovered. I have a cat and I took her with me.
Hello.
Do you use over the counter progesterone cream or one prescribed by a doctor?
Thank you
Tracy
