What could this be? Advice please .

Hi All,

Well I have suffered from Health Anxiety since April 2018.

Trigger was a drop in blood pressure, side effect from this prescribed ointment I used just the once.

Well  experienced a lot of symptoms/ sensations of Anxiety, and they were not pleasant! Like you probably know your self.

Well for about a month I suffered from diarrhoea, goodness my 1-2 a day but the formation was like mushy cow pat(sorry). Lost my appetite and lost nearly a stone.

Well I’ve had blood tests & stool tests and everything come back normal 😊

The Drs. Put it down to a viral bug that they said that probably when they tested my stools the bug might of went but basically left me with the aftermath. I was thinking also maybe Anxiety didn’t help.

Anyways the last couple of weeks I have been forming right, but have had constipation twice. And I’ve got my appetite back & weight is being gained, & anxiety symptoms/ sensations were very minimal. So happy days.

Went out with the family for a meal at the local Indian restaurant, had a medium curry(I’m used to spicy curries) but thought best play it safe. But I did dip into the green chilli sauce and onion dip.

Also I drank 3x beers & 1 WKD.

Well woke up this morning feeling sick, tummy turning.

So went to the loo, opened my bowels & it was formed right.

Got back into bed still feeling sick. Went back loo and opened bowels again & it was like runny porridge.

Been forwards & backwards 3/4 times and it’s like water.

What could this be?

Anxiety is starting to rise and I’m suppose to start my training tomorrow for my new job.

Can’t believe this happening!

Please any advice welcome.

Also what tests could I ask for? To get to the bottom of this?

Take Care xx

Hey Jodie. That was quick with your anxiety coming back it sucks aye. I remember you saying u had X-rays ultrasound bloods. Good to hear your appetite has come back sometimes viruses can linger for a bit after they have gone. Or could just be IBS if I eat Indian food it always triggers my IBS but there is no test to test for IBS so it can be frustrating

Sounds exactly like me.. It's very possible it's ibs. You have to learn what your trigger foods are and try to avoid them. For me it's onions garlic dairy anything spicy or to much acidity.. I get bloated very gassy and sorry for TMI but either constapated or really runny BM. Try eating bland for awhile see if that helps. Hoping you feel better

Hi Josh, hope your ok?

I thought of you straight the way as you have said all along more than likely IBS.

I know it’s S### isn’t it, really doesn’t take much does it.

I think it is IBS, & definitely stay away from spicy foods & alcohol.

Just can’t believe if that’s what it is, how quick your body can change, if that makes sense.

I do find things like that hard to believe same with anxiety, how can your mind goes against you and tries to f### you up? 🤔  I always think that because of a change like that something must be seriously wrong 😩

Hopevyour taking care of yourself & nice to hear from you x

Hi Renee hope your ok. And Thanks for your reply.

Before all this Anxiety started I wasn’t an everyday goer if you know what I mean. I could probably go a few days without going. And yes sometimes some spicy foods made me go quite a lot.

Anxiety kicked in April then in June time I started to have very loose stools. Never watery just mushy(sorry)🤢 then I used to feel very sick, stomach cramps and struggled to eat for about a week. Lost weight etc.. Was told after number of tests for celiac, viruses and Calprotectin that maybe Acute Diarrhoea, then maybe a bug that’s passed.

Been fine for past couple of days. But throughout this anxiety/ diarrhoea stuff I avoided spicy foods, alcohol and strong foods like that. Thought I would of been ok but obviously far too soon for things like that.😩 Tbh I did divulge in the chilli sauce and the onion dip a lot. So might of been that. I think it will be healthy bland foods from now on like you have said.

Take care xx

Yeah health anxiety sucks big time. Have you ever thought of medication for anxiety? Also my mum went through pretty much what you are going through your symptoms had every test possible ended up being IBS and that was like 15 years ago she just learnt to control it

Also there are some good supplements for IBS

I bet you & your Mum are a good support for One another 😊

I’m just drinking a cup of Twinnings Peppermint tea, I’ve heard Peppermint is good for you. I should do some regarding IBS. I preferably don’t want to take any medications if can be helped, due to the Gilbert Syndrome, don’t want to add to the pressure. And the last 2 prescribed medications I used I had a bad reaction/ experience even with flipping ointment 😂 Just been Asda a bought some Chewy tablets for the acid in my stomach that I sometimes get and some calming medicine for anxiety, to take before bed, because I always wake up really early , & I used to be one of these people that could sleep all day.

They have natural ingredients in & I still worry about that.

I should hear something from CBT sometime. Think I might need that to help me retrain my mind. Every niggle I get , that thought is still there, did they miss something? Will it only show when it’s too late? Etc ....

I feel 90% better, just the little pains that come & go, and bad thoughts. I get tired easily & dontfeel as strong as what I did, but probably that’s because I haven’t really been active since April. So need to build myself back up. Then this, this morning, but I feel ok just tired, been up since 5.

Hope your enjoying your Sunday 😊x

Yeah that is good to hear that you are trying to do something about it. Health anxiety is not easy as you already know 😩. But you are getting better not worse so that is a good thing, sometimes it just takes longer because of the silly health anxiety 😩. But you will get through it trust me 😊

Yes & you will too😊 Take Care x
