What does it mean to exfoliate, and why should you?

"Exfoliation means removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin, using either a chemical, granular substance, or exfoliation tool," explains plastic surgeon Dr Osman Bashir Tahir1. "Your skin does shed dead skin cells, but it doesn't always get rid of them all."

From the age of 50 I went to the doctor to ask what the crusty spots were coming through the skin I was told they were senile Watts warts and not to worry about them well I am now 86 and I still have them only they are much larger and crusty I I do not try to scrape them or interfere with them in any way but I would be much happier not to feel them and I want them to go away
