Hello all,
Was hoping I can get some advice. Right now I am in between medications. I was on sulfasalazine and it was increased to 3,000 mg a day and the side effects were awful. I will not go on methotrexate for many reasons, so right now I am waiting for Humira to be filled and sent to me.
It has been about a month since I have been on anything at all (pharmacy issues) and my hands are aching so horrible I don't even want to move them. What have you guys found that works the best for pain and aches in between? I really can't take narcotics (although that would be nice) since I work 2 jobs, but its not like I can rest and relax and the stiffness and aching pain is just too much. ANY and all advice would be very helpful.
Thanks all!
Hi. My GP prescribed my Nefopam. It's not an opiate and supposedly not addictive. The really good thy about it is that you can take it alongside any other pain killers. It's sometimes given to women in labour and to patients following surgery.
Hmmm I have never heard of that one! I should look into that. I do have some Naproxen that I have been taking, the 500 mg ones, and its "ok" I guess.
I'd never heard of it before either and I'm a nurse! But it does work well.
Hi Please read The Road Back Foundation you can google it. I have been on this treatment 6 yrs. Happy reading let me know what you think.
I just looked it (nefopam) up and it isn't available in the US. The NSAIDS help but not enough at times. Anyone know of any other pain medicines available in the US.
I figured that because when I looked for it, it was a mystery here for our Google.
I would love to find something availble here in the US that can help!
Update: my Dr prescribed me Etodolac, which is a prescription NSAID for arthritis. Its ok! Nothing to complatin about too much!
