This is my oldest. It was July 1946. At the end of the Summer term Primary One were hearded out into the bitterly cold 'Summer' weather. I am back right in white. The butcher's twins are beside me. My first girlfriend is somewhere there. She was really sweet.

Here to go with my school photo and issued in June 1946 to every school child. (This is the Scottish version.). I was a bit puzzled. I didn't think I had done anything for the King and the war.

Yes it is. The photo looks as if the souvenir is dirty. That is just reg photo. The souvenir is printed on light card, uniformly light Ivory in colour. Just the thing for your interest in social history.
Does anyone have an English version of this Royal communication? If so please upload a photo of it.
The English version I expect will be identical except that the English Royal armoral bearings will be at the top.

i know that sounds like playground talk .below you see me as a 2yr old in mayla in 62
below are a school photo of my grt uncle tom he was born in 1913 so i would say this must be1917 he looks about 4 . the other pic is the class photo and him later on either just before or after ww2 didnt he grow into a handsome man . he made it of the beeches at dunkirk at all the way home thru spain on his own with out any ability to speak spanish or french . he was getting back to his wife no matter what . he was made training sergent after that so never had to back out fighting again .
