Hi All, I have had an anterior and posterior repairs with sacrospinous fixation and perineal repair two weeks ago. I have been lucky so far and am recovering well. It was painful for the first week and then much improved and I am on ibruprofen twice a day mainly to help with the swelling. I asked the surgeon when I should start pelvic floor exercises as i am very keen to help my recovery and to try and avoid having any recurrence of these problems. He said after two weeks and I do feel strong enough to get started but I think there is conflicting information out there about whether this is too soon and if it can cause problems. I wondered what everyone else's experience of this was and particularly from those further on in the recovery period. I am still very swollen inside and reassured form reading on here that this is normal but i don't want to make this worse by exercising too early. Any advice gratefully received.
wait left eight weeks then resume your pelvis floor exercises. Take it easy
I would wait eight weeks or so. You could start trying to engage your core more when you walk, but it seems too early.
Thanks for the advice, that’s good to know.
hello
I would wait till yiur 6vweeks check up as too much pressure could cause damage.
I was 8 weeks before I started.good luck.
