My son has developed a largish white lump at the back of his mouth just beyond his last molar. Originally there were two side by side but the smaller one has migrated lower down and is hardly visible now. The larger has remained in situ and has grown in size. He saw a GP about a chest infection he had and she said it was a tonsil stone. I know it is not a tonsil stone. For a start! it has a clear skin membrane over the top of it with very faint veins running through it rather like a cyst. Secondly tonsils are in your tonsil and are comprised of debris and usually rough and gritty in appearance - my son’s bump is at the bottom of the arch of his mouth. It looks like it could be filled with white fluid but he is not happy with the idea of trying to burst it. It is not painful at all. It is now weeks since it appeared. We have looked at thousands of images on Dr Google but cannot find one just like it. Any ideas please?
I agree it doesn’t look like a tonsil stone. It’s so aggravating when doctors just throw things out there like that.
I would suggest to see an ENT and get their opinion. They deal with this stuff so should be able to diagnose it.
Take care!
