I just woke up from my sleep and my heart was pounding so fast now I'm scared to fall asleep. I feel so scared and hopeless 😢😢
Do you normally suffer from anxiety? If so, waking up with a pounding heart is very common. That is caused by adrenaline that is released from your brain and it wears off on its own. The fast heart rate will not hurt you. You just need to relax and learn how to calm yourself down. That way your heart rate will relax also. Well I highly advise is that you listen to an audio on proper breathing. This will completely relax you and also your heart rate will slow down. Go to YouTube and search for “mindfulness breathing guided meditation 10 minutes“ this will help you control anxiety and symptoms. Listen to it carefully when you have some quiet time and use your butt if you have them. If you do have anxiety, there are many audio meditations on YouTube for anxiety, sleep, depression, etc. many to choose from. I listen every night when I lay down to sleep. They completely relax my mind, body and symptoms. Check them out! Hope you feel better
I didn’t mean butt, I meant earbuds. LOL

Sounds like Anxiety, When we go to bed and lie down, you will sometimes feel the heart beating, especially as you awake and get out of bed. Although in some ways that may upset and worry you. In most cases the heart is ok. The heart will be strong and performing well
I do understand whatever I say you will need medical reassurance so talk to yr GP and make an appointment. If tests are given trust the Doctor and Hospital that all is correct.

Hi Lopez, happens to me a lot, it's not dangerous and won't harm you. You don't have to be scared to fall asleep it's just anxiety. Neil
Yes I suffer from severe anxiety. I will try out the meditation but sometimes I feel weird in the head when doing them lol.
Yeah my doctor and the doctors at the er say everything is fine and my heart is healthy but I still feel like my heart works harder just from doing chores around the house but some days are better than others.
Thank you aspinan but man last night my heart was pounding sooo fast but luckily I had meds for it.
You may have been having an exciting dream ............don't worry about it!!!! You're OK! Lie down and have a nice dream.....
I’ve had this before and lately it’s happened every night, just as I’m nicely falling into a semi-conscious sleep-state, BAM! My heart flutters and then beat really hard and fast. Then that’s me done for the rest of the night as I lay they worrying. I’ve tried the mindfulness sessions Jan recommends and they do help though.
