Worked Well For A Year

My REZUM procedure worked.  I was good for about a year.  Now I'm have the same frequency issues that I had before the procedure.  Any thoughts.  Thanks

Resume made it worse for me

The DAILY MAIL headline 3 months back, says Rezum has only just been invented and is a miracle cure.  I know that's not correct of course.  I think Holep has the longest endurance.

Have you been back to your doctor.  What did he say.  I am sorry that your having the problem again  Ken

According to several studies involving more than a thousand of patients, The durability of HoLEP is more than 10 years. Within 10 years the reoperation rate is 2-5% and the complications are less than TURP.

I'm still waiting for my resume procedure to show me any benefit, but if it ever goes bad I'm going with your old lift next time. Immediate relief, no catheter. Check out the reviews on YuTube from a place called Sunrise Urological in Chandler Arizona

Urolift....

Just curious, whether u had a chance to do any research before Rezum. If yes, was this the expected result?

The problem is finding a surgeon who knows how to do the h o l e p procedure

What was the recovery like?

Was the operation painful

Beaddy,   What was the size of your prostate, before and after Rezum and now ?  Did you have an enlarged median lobe ?  How many steam injections did you get with Rezum ?  What is your flow rate and post void residual ?

You should get a PSA check to see if your prostate may be growing again, and to rule out cancer.

Your prostate may be growing back or you might have prostatitis.  Ask your Urologist to check for prostatitis.  He can check the urine for bacteria, and do the DRE for size.  If there is sharp pain with DRE it could indicate prostatitis.  He can also check size with ultrasound to see if your prostate has been growing back.

As a last resort your Uro may want to do a cystoscopy.

Kenneth, I have not been back. Today I scheduled an appointment for next week. It is going to be interesting to find out what happened. I was doing great.

I like the no catheter. That was worst than the procedure and I had to go to the ER 2 times between that Friday and Monday (when I was scheduled to have it removed). Having my wee wee rodded that many times drove me insane (metaphorically speaking).

I did not have a chance to do much research, only the pre-procedure stuff and some youtube videos. I didn't expect it not to last. It's almost as thought the warranty ran out. :-0

Aaron, everything worked just as the pre-procedure literature stated. It took about 6 weeks for everything to clear up (urine/semen). Didn't hurt my sex life at all. No retro. During the six weeks there would be blood in my urine and an occasional clot as my pipes healed and cleaned themselves out if that makes sense. I didn't have any complications. The procedure itself was very brief. I was given some pre-procedure meds and to be honest they didn't help. When something is inserted into your pee pee it hurts. At least it did me, I don't care what kind of drugs they gave me. I would rather have been put under. It's probably not the worst pain though and it was very brief. Didn't like that cath at all. I think that I could have done without that.

Thomas,

Honestly, I don't even know what all of that means. :-) I don't know about the numbers. I was just trying to get some relief. I got 4 injections. I do know that. I am still urinating pretty good, just too often. No blood. No pain. Just frequency. I have an appointment on Halloween (of all days) and I will report back the results of that visit.

Beaddy

Please lets us know when you find out

Good Luck......................Ken

beaddy, Four injections is not alot. Your prostate has probably continued to grow. Every one is different, for some four injections might be enough, for others, whose prostate is growing fast, four injections may not remove enough tissue. You should continue to get the appropriate tests to determine what is happening, and what is best to do from here.
