Hi, I am a 28 year old male. Two weeks ago I had came down with what I think was a stomach bug. I started vomiting, which lasted for about ten hours, until I was only vomiting what I think was bile (yellow, green stuff, sorry for the details!). I also had an upset stomach. The next day the vomiting had stopped however for last ten days I have felt very weak and fatigued, I have had an upset stomach when I eat and feel sick and dizzy (I haven't vomited since the first night.) On a couple of nights I have had a fever that only starts at around 10pm and goes on into the night, but by the morning is gone. I have also noticed that there is a small area at the top middle section of my abdomen (just below the ribcage) which is tender to touch. It only hurts when I touch it. My stomach is always gurgling and I have lost my appetite. I have booked a gp appointment in a couple of days. Any ideas what it wrong. I am getting quite worried...
Hi, I suppose you are looking at all sorts of stomach problems or could it be gallbladder problems. Lots of things could give these symptoms. You've done the right thing in getting a doctors appointment, it could just be a bad somach bug but they'll be able to assess you best . Until then I would eat light food nothing spicy or fatty and take it easy. Hope all goes well.
Are you a drinker? If you are you can probably answer your question yourself.
If not, have you been drinking green smoothies or juices or consuming large quantities of raw veg?
If no to both those it was probably some godawful food poisoning event that is past its worst.
At 28 it i unlikely to be sign of anything sinister.
Hi Philip, sorry to hear that you are unwell.
To be completely honest with you there are so many possible causes of stomach disorders that it would be difficult to explore them all on this forum, and it would be wholly incorrect for anyone other than your own GP to speculate as to what might be the cause of your problem.
If, as has already been suggested you can get yourself down to your surgery as soon as possible, your GP will no doubt carry out a number of tests from which the correct diagnosis can will be established, following which a suitable treatment plan will be put in place to help you..
In the meanwhile, although it is extremely tempting to do so, I would not hypothesize as to what could be the cause.
I hope that the problem soon clears up.
