Zoloft + Buspar??

Hi everyone! I'm new here and this is my first time posting. smile

Back story....I've suffered with anxiety/panic attacks/agoraphobia for quite some time (years). I got to a pretty good place a few years ago, but recently I'm down in the dumps again. Anyway...my doctor added Buspar (5mg x 2/day) to my normal dose of Zoloft (100mg daily) along with Xanax as needed (I only take when absolutely necessary...my last bottle of 30 lasted a year). Of course I had to research the Buspar....because, well...anxiety....and I'm worried about Seretonin Syndrome?? Has anyone added in Buspar to your regular antidepressant, and if so did you have any issues? I need some reassurance! rolleyes

I would like to say that I am not a doctor first of all. However I would really trust your primary care physician. If the medicine they have you on is working I know you'll do great. However if you get like the following symptoms, talk to your doctor about changing the buspar. If you get, shakiness, alot of energy, and or similar to convulsions but just like your muscles are not under your control any more, you'll also feel a lot of anxiety and feel possibly like you are having a heart attack (you won't you'll be ok) go to the emergency room immediately! Then you do have seritonin syndrome. It'll be pretty clear if or once you get these things. The emergency room will probably prescribe something like Valium to stop your seritonin syndrome from advancing and getting worse than already is. I hope this helps you. If you find yourself having issues physically, I would also go to WebMD.com and go onto the symptom check. That'll give you further information on what may be happening to you. God bless you and good luck, Anako

hey! So how are you doing on these medications? My doctor is wanting me to start all the above and the sameness doses but instead of Xanax kolonopin. Can you tell me your experience so far with the Buspar and Zoloft? Taking medicines especially new meds make me anxious because of side effects
