The drug was reclassified last year to a class C drug. Therefore doctors are concerned when prescribing. Now 10 years but that's because of underlying medical conditions.
when doctors surgerys are audited they are accountable for what they prescribe and the Health trusts paying for these prescriptions also will pick this up. If your saying doctor prescribing to anyone long term without any justification they will be found out or perhaps doctor is justified in their prescribing

Je ne commencerais jamais à prendre des drogues simplement parce que mon médecin les recommande et je trouve incroyable que les gens ne fassent pas de recherches avant de commencer à en prendre. Mais ce serait vraiment bien si les médecins comprenaient toute la douleur que leurs patients endurent pour arrêter de prendre ce médicament. La notice d'information imprimée par le fabricant à l'intérieur du paquet indique qu'il est important de ne prendre ce médicament que pendant 14 à 20 jours. Il doit y avoir une raison à cela et c'est pourquoi je ne comprends pas pourquoi les médecins le prescrivent pour une période plus longue que celle-ci. Il doit y avoir autre chose

I became dependant on Zopiclone, like your friend, by accident, without any idea what I was getting myself into! I thought I had lost my mind, I spent days walking around feeling like I would snap any minute due to extreme anxiety and panic attacks. When I realised what it was causing it I went cold turkey and it was the hardest week of my life, didn't sleep or eat for 3/4 days. Couldn't go to work. Just tried to walk all day and then try and drink myself to sleep on a night! After about a week I started to stop drinking and then a couple of weeks after that I started feeling slightly normal again. That was about 6 months ago and now I feel fine! But I'll never forget how bad it was. I think you should tell your friend to take a 'life holiday' and try and get through it. I'm not a doctor but from personal experience the sooner you end the zopiclone nightmare the better! It's a shame because at the beginning the drug does work..
J'ai eu une douleur au côté depuis que j'ai commencé à prendre le médicament. Peut-être sans rapport. J'ai passé une IRM, une coloscopie et j'ai rendez-vous pour un test gastro en mars. Je ne me sens tout simplement pas bien. J'ai mentionné dans un autre post que j'avais regardé l'épisode du Dr Oz sur ce médicament. Je suis allée aux urgences à plusieurs reprises en pensant que j'allais mourir et on n'a jamais rien trouvé. Ils pensent que je suis hypocondriaque. Le Dr Oz dit que ce sont les pilules. Malheureusement, je pense qu'elles ont attaqué mon système nerveux comme l'a dit Margaret. Je ne pense pas pouvoir arrêter. Si vous le pouvez, faites-le. Réduisez et peut-être une semaine sans dormir. Mais vous pouvez y arriver.
Je prends du Zopiclone depuis près de vingt ans maintenant et n'ai jamais eu de problèmes d'estomac avec eux.
ton amie abuse de ces médicaments et d'autres substances, il n'est donc pas étonnant qu'elle ne se sente pas bien.
Hi, I just happened to find the post on this site about zopiclone, and wannted to suggest that your friend with the stomache problems needs to get to find a doctor and get referred to a gastroenterologist and ask to be tested for celiac disease. Her symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks and digestive issues any constipation or diarrhea are some of the symptoms I had before I was diagnosed with it. If she is celiac and starts following a gluten free diet she will start feeling better, it takes awhile depending on how badly the villi are damaged, but she will feel better.
Also if she is celiac and doesn't get tested and follow a strict gluten free diet, she has a higher chance of developing more serious problems down the road as well as a possiblity of developing intestinal cancer.
As for the ubusing zopiclone, if that is what is happening she needs to get help for that as well.
Je prends du zopiclone depuis 4 ans. J'ai commencé à 3,5 mg, maintenant j'en prends 10. J'ai un nouveau médecin et il veut que j'arrête ce médicament. Mon ancien médecin disait que c'était la pilule pour dormir la moins addictive. J'ai commencé à avoir des problèmes digestifs il y a 3 ans. J'ai arrêté le gluten, le sucre, la viande rouge, les produits laitiers. J'ai toujours des problèmes de constipation, de ballonnements, de douleurs. J'ai tout essayé pour soigner mon intestin. Je me sevrage maintenant du zopiclone.

I have been taking zops for 10 years now. I went one year, of shear hell, doing without. I got so fed up with wack sleep patterns or none at all I went back on a few months ago and I am grateful to be able to sleep. With all the talk about dependency I suppose I am one of those. My doctor knows how long I have been taking these and sees no danger so I myself am wondering what all the fuss is about ?

I have taken zopiclone for at least 30 years and cant go to bed with out it 7.5 mg, never had any bad effects from it, the only bad thing it does for me is make me want some thing either sweet or salty about 15 minutes after taking it, does this happen to any one else
Hi there I too have been on it for many years and now at 66 won’t be going off it. I need my sleep as I have several health issues. 😁
