4 weeks post LTHR what should i b doing?

Far too early to be put full weight on operated leg.  At 4 weeks I had just started using 1 crutch around the house.  Listen to your body,

So right there Barb - it took me something like 6 months before I felt remotely like myself again.  At 10 weeks, I was still using a stick/cane.

You do get better, but it takes time, longer than you think it should.

Try watching the op of YouTube.  I plucked up the courage as I too felt i should be able to do more and wanted to be more independent.  You'll change your mind once you have watched it and realised what an enormous op it is!  Do it!

Hi Pauline,

Checking in with you ... This forum is great, isn't it ? To be on this journey together makes it so much more bearable -

As said many time before , we all heal at different rates -

This is not a one size fits all recovery - and there are so many different approaches (and contradictory ones at that) - After 1st THR I was told by Physical therapist to try walk without aids in the house , furniture surfing, at around 3-4 weeks - After 2nd THR (6 months kater) other PT told me to use my rollator for 6 weeks or until I had follow up appointment to prevent limping ....arghhhh -

It is major surgery and lots of healing needs to take place, darling - that is what it is - and it takes time -

do what you can, there are no shoulds and no gain in pain after THR okay?

How are you doing otherwise?

Be kind and gentle with Pauline ... Put her number one -

big warm hug

renee
