crawled under my truck and changed the oil yesterday, but I still can't put my own sock on....go figure!!!
Wow, amazing. I can put my socks on and touch past my toes, but no way could I shimmy under the car! I'm about 9 weeks post....
I'm just over 2 months. I have 2 tricks for socks. I put my op. side foot on the edge of the bed. The foot is high enough for me to put the sock on. Second is putting it on from the back. Either way, it's a challenge.
Hi John I'm 6 months post and still can't physician on op leg foot the positions I get into trying to do this task is ridiculous one day one day lol🙌
Hi well done you,but that's a rather silly thing to do when you've had major surgery. please take things slow.I still struggle with socks & that's nearly two years.regards Amanda
I still can't bend enough to put socks on at 4 months post hip op, but then I do have severe arthritus in other hip and both knees.
Putting off any other op at the moment.
Funny!! I'm almost 7 months post op and can finally put my socks on. I got some ankle boots for Christmas and had to get my grandson (8 years old) to zip the them up for me. The zipper was on the outside which meant extra stretching. I haven't quite mastered doing up those boots by myself
Congrats to you! I would share this with my husband, however, I never changed the oilast before my surgery....no need to set an expectation that I might be able to do it after 😂
Well done John!
I am 4 weeks post op and doubt I will be able to put on my socks anytime soon
Can't get my body bending down!!! It's annoying but I can walk for nearly an hour on 2 crutches!!!
Go figure😂😂😂to borrow your expression
Your such a guy 😊🌻
Wow 😳!! I haven't attempted to get on the floor much less crawl under a vehicle! I still can't put my sox on without my wonderful husband doing it for me or using the sock aide. And I'm 6 mons out!! Well glad you're doing well. Take care of yourself though!! 🤓🤠. LD
I am now six months post and some days socks are still a struggle. It is getting better and noticably better than a month ago.
I think ti is more a case of learning how to go about it. I used to bring my knee up, so the top of my thigh was against my chest, which is no longer an option. For a while a brought my foot up behind me, but I am now able to bring my foot close enough with bending the knee.
This was one area the consultant didn't mention before the replacement. It wouldn't have changed the outcome, but it does seem I wasn't given all fo the facts.
it took me about four months to be able to put socks/tights on without any aids. I used the Soxon aid great peice of kit. Well done on you getting under the car, i couldnt have done it at your stage.
