ALS, Anxiety or something else?

Hi, i am a 26 year old male and relitively healthy. Two weeks ago i developed a twitch in my left calf, it was annoying and did not pose too much of an issue. Since then my twitching is still mainly in my left leg(thigh, calf, knee and foot) however the odd twitch in my right leg, right arm and face can be felt.

I googled the possible reason and ALS and motor neurone disease pages were the most prominent in coming back! Since this i have been constantly worried about this and the twitches are getting worse.

Been to the doctors to explain this and i have to go back in another week or so! I dont know if i am getting worse with the twitches due to a condition or due to anxiousness about possibly having ALS/ motor neurone, i am considering going for a private consultation with a neurologist but i cannot really afford this.

Have you been ill recently or had a vaccine?

Have you tried potassium and magnesium to see if you are deficient? Also do you drink a lot of caffeine? Been exercising without hydrating.

There are some common issues that may cause it as lusted above. If none of that is it after trying to correct you will need to see a neurologist.

There are labs that need to be checked etc. The only way to determine if it is or isn't als is a emg or if you develop weakness. No weakness then it isn't als. I jave had twitching after a terrible illness for 16 months. If you use facebook join a group called BFS recovery. It is a support group for benign fasciculation syndrome which you may have. Read the posts there and ask questions they will help you but don't read anymore about als it will only scare you and it probably isnt it. Weakness that is progressive is the hallmark of als.

Think you should just in case

I’ve been reading on it basically hits all ur nervious system gets worse ,worse yes there’s medication but stays with u once you have it. I’ll get tested for it cause lately Bronx sick all the time gbs like a roller coaster because I had it sever. Basically feel week lots and my legs feet feel harder time moving. Are there cases were you can die from this?
