Hi i have a history of anxiety but have recently had awful chest pain and palpitations i have had an ecg and a 24hr ecg and they both came bk normal but im still getting all the hert symptoms. If i drink alcohol my heart rate can be as much aa 115bmp my question is do you think this is anxiety or a heart issue xxx

 Well, the ECG would have most likely detected something if there was a heart issue. Try to reduce your anxiety and see if that helps. Alcohol makes anxiety worse.  Try some mindfulness meditations for anxiety on YouTube. Do things that relax you. Learn the proper way to breathe in order to take control over anxiety. You can find this on YouTube under “mindfulness breathing guided meditation 10 minutes“. 

 nobody on this site can diagnose, but if you keep having symptoms let your doctor know. But since you have a history of anxiety that could be the culprit. Anxiety creates many different symptoms.

I know anxiety has a lot to answer from ots just that iv never had these heart symptoms in all the years iv suffered. Iv got to the point were in scared to go to the gym and stuff because I really feel like i have a heart problem xxx

Many heart palpitations are normal and benign. Stress can cause some of these benign ones. If the doctor say your heart is fine I would believe him or her. I know from personal experience that palpitations can come and go. At times I get Premature ventricular contractions. They are very common. I say try to ignore them as best you can.

I just find it so hard to accept im ok just by them doing an ecg i feel like i would like a scan or something. I also get pain in my shoulder aswel as my chest and i worry its a heart attack xxx

 Well maybe if you do ask for more tests and they give you these tests that it will finally put your mind at ease. You need to be reassured in one way or another that you’re fine so that you can move on.  However if you have all the tests and they come back negative will you believe it?

I think i would i just dont feel like an ecg alone is conclusive xxx
