Anyone had these symptoms and found out its NOT anxiety?

Guys I really need some help,

For the past 2 years I have felt on off lightheaded, my breathing feels weird, I'm not breathless but I feel like I might stop breathing at any moment, sometimes it wakes me from my sleep. I've had other small things wrong such as tingly hands, bad bad earache, pain in joints among others. The main thing I can't seem to shake is the dizzy lightheaded feeling along with the breathing.

Long story short I've had many many tests to the point where they're telling me there's nothing wrong and it's anxiety.

I know a symptom of anxiety is that you may be in denial about it and believe there's something more wrong but I really think i could be really poorly so much so that I'm searching for anyone with these sympoms that may have had a physical illness as opposed to anxiety, so that I can point my own gp in the right direction. Ive asked that he test for lymes disease but he said it's unlikely despite me having been to the Dr for a bite about 4 years ago.

My patience is thin, I have the trip of a lifetime coming up soon and I'm terrified I may feel like this for the whole trip; what a buzz kill!

I'd appreciate any help or advice more than you would ever know.

Thanks. P.s I'm a female not pregnant but have a big big fibroid, I am overweight but not so that it's affected my health, I was suspected as having vestibular migraines but now that's been brushed under the carpet.

Hi,  sorry you are going through all of this.

you mentioned that you had a bite four years ago. What type of a bite was it?

The other thing is that you can take most symptoms and they will be related to most conditions. So even if someone has had all of your symptoms and was diagnosed with something, that does not mean you have the same thing.

i'm curious about the bite.   Was it a tick bite?

My sister-in-law contracted Lyme disease .

it was finally diagnosed one and a half years  after the bite.  Doctors kept telling her she had rheumatoid arthritis.

Thank you, u don't know what it was as I didn't find anything on the skin, at the time I wasn't a hypercondriac like now since all this, but I went to my gp because it was like no bite I'd had before. It was massive or infected but small and red and flat, I get bitten by mosquitos all the time 10's of bites on each leg etc and I'm fine with it. This one was different. At the time my gp said it was nothing but a bite hut gave me antibiotics .

Long story, but I have since left this practise after they offered me a brain scan to rule out any nasties making me dizzy and went on to tell me "a brain tumour is unlikely as I've diagnosed one this year already" then told me I was probably deficient in VITD because my work uniform is black.

Endless to say I didn't trust them but my new gp didn't see the bite. Was there a specific test for lymes as I understand it's hard to diagnose?

Hi Jan,

I know this isn't what you want to hear but it really does sound like you have anxiety. The breathing thing you describe is a hallmark for an anxiety disorder. Often, people with anxiety concentrate too much on their breathing and this can actually lead to feelings of lightheadedness/dizziness.

Also anxiety can cause joint pain, because your muscles are stiff all the time and rarely relax. I know you were hoping to find something physically wrong with you because quite frankly it's easier to treat... But speaking from experience- it seems like you have anxiety.

I would highly recommend seeing a psychiatrist because they can better diagnose you/ figure out what's going on in your head. And if you are still adamant about getting a Lyme's disease test---- it is a blood test that most Dr. offices can do themselves.

Thank you for replying

The thing I can't get to grips with is I've always had a busy job, I had no more stress than normal and one day I just spun out! Since then it's been non stop and without being dramatic it's totally ruining my life.

The only thing keeping me going at the moment is the fact I've had lots of tests done, and my oxygen levels have always been fine.

I just feel there has to be something else

Hi l think if you look through all the posts on this forum most people say the same anxiety hits out of the blue and then it is constant symptoms. It is hard to accept anxiety can cause all these physical symptoms but it does and it is all consuming.I hope you get the help you need to get your anxiety under control.

Thank you,I just don't know what help to get, I've hit a wall with my gp

If you are in the UK ask your doctor to refer you to mental health services. There they will assess you and you can ask to be referred for therapy.
