I have been taking Prednisone for more than 14 mo. since PMR diagnosis, now down to 8 mg p.d. One of the very first PMR symptoms I experienced was in my feet. Now I feel a distinct discomfort running down the middle of my right foot, but nothing comparable on the left.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I have had PMR for about 16 months. On 9 mg of pred a day, coming back from a flare. About 6 months ago I developed "navicular tuberosity" in my left foot. The podiatrist and rheumy did not thnk it was related to the PMR or the prednisone...?? I must wear supportive shoes most of the time and have used the KT tape (kinesiology tape) successfully. I Googled KT tape to find out how to put the tape on....it really has helped. My right foot feels vulnerable, but has not "collapsed" like the left foot. I also put Superfeet inserts in my shoes...this helps a lot. Hope this helps.
Hi there! For myself I seem to attribute every change in my body to PMR/pred. Then I tell myself that at my age what do you expect - nothing lasts forever. Like you I have recently experienced discomfort running down the middle of my right foot tho only when walking. However, it does seem to largely go away once I start walking - a trip to the shops usually. More than likely it is just the way we walk, putting emphasis on one side more than the other. It seems that with PMR our bodies jump at every opportunity to have a grumble.

A former girlfriend of mine (circa 1978/9) recently said: "At our age, either it hurts or it doesn't work."
