Been a week now where I'm very conscious of my breathing. I don't think I'm hyperventilating so it makes me even more worried because I can't seemed to be satisfied with the air I take in. To breathe and feel calm is just not happening. I don't know what to do about it. I tried breathing exercises but they make me more stressed. I been to the doctors, she checked my breathing with those feel your back/chest thing and said it was fine. I just want to have be able to breathe again.
Hi finn,
Do you have an anxiety problem? It sounds like a very common symptom of anxiety in which you become hyper-aware to your own bodily functions like breathing and heart rate. You caught in a loop where you think about it and it makes you anxious which makes you try to “manually breath” which makes you anxious and so on…
Keep in mind that its just anxiety and it will pass! its not dangerous! and its quite common.
When it happens try to relax your body and switch your focus to something else.
Best regards!
you have to know how to get control over your breathing.
search YouTube for “stop panic attack now". Then scroll down and find “don’t panic“ it in black letters. Listen to it. It is short and she guides you through it. It really works. it shows you how to get control over your breathing.
we are in the same boat! there’s not a moment where i don’t focus on my breathing and find myself constantly out of breath. it’s actually become a bad habit of mine to always take deep breaths just to make me feel better. we have the exact same problem and i think that since we are both experiencing the same thing, it shouldn’t be that uncommon. best of luck & i hope you feel better!
Yeah, was diagnosed with generalised anxiety and panic disorder a 11 months ago. Been a while since I had such a bad episode of anxiety in which the symptoms became debilitating. I try to distract my mind and I still get worked up. I have a constant lump in my throat too. Also, I really appreciate you and those who have responded. Helps having people to talk to about it.
Its a dreadful feeling. I wish deep breathing helped but it agitates me further. I hope your anxiety troubles disappear too. It really is an uphill battle. Best of luck c:
I will look it up later. Thanks Jan.
