Can anxiety make you feel like this out of the blue?

Hello,

I've had GAD for about 3 years now, but for the past maybe 4 days or so I've been having these episodes of crying uncontrollably for absolutely no reason. I don't feel like I'm particularly stressed or anxious about anything specifically. I'm getting really scared that this is happening. When it does happen, I'm a complete mess. Of course major anxiety kicks in and I get that awful nervous feeling. Like I said, I've had anxiety for years now, and have never really been like this. Has anyone out of the blue like this had these extreme crying episodes for no reason? Will this last forever? I've gone to therapy and that hasn't really worked for me. I've been on antidepressants and those make me worse, tried homeopathic meds, over the counter natural supplements, acupuncture, reiki, but nothing helps.

Hi amy

Sorry your anxiety symptoms have changed , i know how uncomfortable that is .

Ive had gad / panic disorder for 17 years and ive had lots of symptoms that change over time .

The feeling your having is most likely your anxiety , your emotions are out of place but anxiety can cause the strangest feelings and for no reason at times .

Try not to analyze these feelings it only makes it worse , i know its super hard but you have to try .

I hope you start feeling better real soon ☺

Yeah this is usually from depression, sometimes the emotions and the fear can become overwhelming and you just cry cause you don't know what else to do.! I also get this often.!

Thanks so much for your reply! I had a decent day yesterday so I'm hoping this bout of crying is done for now!

Thank you for your reply! Ya I definitely think it is depression. Goes hand and hand with the anxiety. Just scary when these symptoms spiral out of control for no reason at all.

Hi Amykins, sounds like a depression symptom, don't worry too much about it, I have a good cry quite a lot at the moment, it helps I find to let it out especially when being given a hug from someone.
