CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?!

Hi I'm a 15 year old boy teen.

About a week ago I started getting mucus on the side of my stool, it wasn't a lot but I knew it was there.

In that week I also kept getting constipation and a little bit of diarrea when I finally could go to the toilet and do my business.

My symptoms are

Constipation

Mucus around stool

A bit of blood on stool when constipated

Rumbling stomach after food

A few minor cramps

Itchiness around bottom area only at night

diarrhoea

A bit of darker colour on stool ( but only once or twice )

I've been to see a doctor and she suspects it could be IBD and is sending me to get a blood test.

I just keep worrying that I might have something different and a lot worse. I don't really get pain anywhere at all, which I know is a good sign.

But just need to know if anyone else has this or the same symptoms as me.

I know the age for IBD is 15 to 40 and I am 15.

Please can someone help me ?!

It will mean a lot ?!

I know I put this in IBS section but it could be IBD or IBD.

If blood occurs when constipated, it might be a fissure or haemorrhoid.  The itching might be from a haemorrhoid.  Some of your symptoms sound more like IBS.  However, a fecal calprotectin stool test would indicate whether you have high inflammation markers.  If you do, this would suggest IBD and a colonoscopy would confirm if this was the case.  If your inflammation levels are low, this would suggest you don't have IBD and perhaps IBS if everything else is clear.

I have IBS and get stomach pain, constipation, occasional diarrhoea or loose, urgent stools on off nausea and occasional back pain.  However, no one person is the same with IBS.

Thankyou that's a great big help pippa, I keep searching it up for e.g. Stomach cancer and all that. I know it can't be that now. I don't get any blood now just like once or twice or maybe 3 times the itching has kinda stopped but not completely, just mainly after going to the bathroom.

Before my IBS diagnosis, I googled a lot about different types of cancer because no one could help me and in the end I terrified myself. Googling symptoms will not ease your symptoms but will make them worse.  Concentrate instead on what your test results actually come up with and take each day as it comes.

Thankyou Pippa!

Good luck.
