Celexa

I’m on 10mg of celexa I was on 20 but dropped cause I was having bad brain fog. The brain fog still isn’t as bad but I dont feel like myself I’ve talked to some people they say it’s called depersonalization does that every go away? I eventually want to get off the celexa and try to go a natural way I havent had a panic attack or bad symptoms in over a year I just feel like I’m running off the side effects of the celexa. Has anyone came off of celexa and how do you feel now? Thank you and comments would help

hi kevin, i havent come off completely yet but down to 6mgs, everytime i drop i get depersonalisation but it goes away x

How do you feel coming off

How long have you tsken ? Brainfog may be from dropping from 20 straight to 10mg also x You need to taper much slower with the lower dosages x some have gone from 10-7.5-5-2.5-1.25 x be sure to stay at each taper 4-6 weeks to make sure you have settled before going on down

im super sensitive kevin so i have to reduce 2mgs a year as i suffer horrendous withdrawals, if i went any faster i couldnt function x

Brainfog / depersonalisation is caused by the constant inward thinking about how we feel. Concentrating continuously on onself is normal when you’ve got anxiety and its hard to pull your attention away from yourself and into the real world.

Starting up meds heightens symptoms, anxiety too, so its bound to make you have brainfog as your thoughts are drawn inwards.

Agree with the others that it happens with withdrawl too especially if going too fast.

People panic about brainfog but its a completely normal side effect and it will pass. People try and escape this, but just go with it, let it be - it will pass.

Hi Katecogs Could you please pm me with that book everyone is talking about. Thanks.

I was on 20mg for 5 weeks and I've been on 10 for probably a month now

Okay thank you so much means alot just was super confused on what was going on

A lot of the symptoms are confusing, and this confusion often causes more anxiety which keeps the cycle continuously rotating.

All symptoms, whatever they are, all have one explanation. They're all caused by anxiety. You'll find as the anxiety eases then the symptoms (side effects) will too, and when anxiety stops then again all symptoms will go too. Even weird thoughts.

Worrying about the side effects is like worrying about a runny nose which is caused by a cold 😉 When a cold goes away then all its side effects will too.

Your awesome that helps alot thank you! means alot
