Chest pains!!

hi all... I posted earlier about my heart. I have had really bad anxiety all day, and now for the last couple of hours have had stabbing/burning chest pain!! im freaking out here. I have an obsession with my heart and have been to the a&e literally 30 times in 6 months, for chest pain and all work up have been normal. so my question is..... if its been normal every time..... I shouldn't worry about a heart attack?!?! I need advice from a sane person who can help me rationalize this fear of it. I feel like going to the a&e now, my mind wants to make me feel like THIS time the pain is different, so It could be a heart attack now?!?!

Hi Christina
I see you posted an hour ago so hopefully things have settled down. If you have been to A&E 30 times in 6 months, no doubt they have done blood tests, ECG etc, and if they have found nothing I think you should rest assured that your heart is fine. When they do these blood tests they are different to the routine ones you have done with your GP, they are more specific to your heart. I know this because my doctor told me they do different blood tests.
If you are checking your pulse as often as you say then I’m afraid you are only making yourself worse. The anxiety is building up and so is your heart rate. You are exhausting yourself. Anxiety will give you chest pain. Heartburn will give you chest pain. Anxiety will give you heartburn. It’s a vicious circle. When you feel this pain distract yourself from it, watch something funny on TV, do something to keep you busy. You’ll find that by taking your mind off it, it will go away.
If you mean by chest pain that the ribs around your chest are sore to touch with a little pressure then you might have something called costochondritis which is inflammation of the rib endings, again this could be caused by anxiety. I know this because I get this and take pain killers for it.
Try to stop obsessing about your heart, you are going to make yourself ill unnecessarily.

hi Jayne!! thank you for the reply back. your message has definitely helped ease my mind. yea the pain has subsided now and able to lay down. I try and repeat myself over and over that everything is ok. I bought some cbd, I think is helping.

Hi Christina
I’m glad you are feeling better, just remember it’s anxiety, not your heart.
