Convinced myself I have ALS or MS

Hello, just another health anxiety person.

To keep it short, I’m a 20 year old male, and have been anxious my whole life basically (runs on my dads side) and I’ve had bad health anxiety for 2 years now.

Convinced myself I’ve had CAD, diabetes, brain tumor, rabies, etc.

Now for my whole life I’ve had weird hand spasms, no one knows why, they’ve done tests and just think it’s a nervous habit. But the past month or so I’ve been getting really weak on the legs and arms, and numbness in my legs whenever I sit down for a little while. I’m pretty active, just had my first kid a week ago actually! But I’ve convinced myself I have ALS and I’m terrified. It’s such a terrible disease and it haunts me.

What should I do?

A few months ago I had a CT scan (had about 4 the last 3 years)

Had many x rays of chest and stomach, all the blood work possible.

I’m just scared.

Thank you in advance if you answer, really could use the help!

Hi Will

Sorry you are feeling this way. Was the CT scan of your head? Have you told your doctor you fear having ALS? Many condirions can, I believe, cause weakness in the arms and legs. Is it constant? Do you have any numbness with it? It might be advisable to see a neurologist for your peace of mind if it is causing you so much distress. There are a lot of good people here that I am sure have had your experience. If I google my symptoms, I come up with having 20 illnesses. Just know you are not alone.
