My doctor wrote a script for Cipralex 10mg but the pharmacist dispensed Zydus Escitalopram 10mg. Is there any difference?
Did you look at the leaflet inside? It would have said something along the lines of " also known as..." If you're unsure or unhappy ring the doctor's surgery for confirmation.
Cipralex is the brand name for Escitalopram. It is only the the manufacturer that is different the drug is the same
As somebody has already said cipralex is the same drug as escitalopram. I know this as I was on it for the last 7 yrs. It's also a similar drug to citalopram but it gets into the body much quicker than citalopram. I was on 20 mg daily for 7 yrs but found that it wasn't working anymore. I have now been on Sertraline for nearly a month now & seem to be doing lots better. At least I'm not crying all day.
