anxiety can definitely cause your symptoms! I have had that and I know how scary it can feel but remember any symptoms caused by anxiety cannot hurt you!
here's what happens……
first of all all anxiety begins in the brain with negative thinking anxious thoughts etc. when we become anxious our brain thinks we are in danger so it sends out a hormone called adrenaline to protect us. Adrenaline speeds up our heart rate in an effort to send oxygen throughout the body as fast as possible so we can prepare for "battle ". so you're feeling the effects of adrenaline What makes it worse is that when we experience rapid or a pounding heart rate it can make us feel more anxious so the brain sends out more adrenaline so it's a vicious circle.
if your ECG came out normal then rest assured your heart is OK. The pounding heart rate and rapid heart rate cannot hurt it. What do you need to do to diminish the symptoms is to calm down the brain. The worst thing you can do is sit and think about it and get more anxious. Here are some things that have helped me very much to gain control .....
first of all, I stopped reacting to my symptoms with anxiety. When I had a symptom I would calmly acknowledge it and not try to fight it off. After I acknowledge that it's there, I accept it.
next, what has help me a lot is listening to audio meditations found on YouTube that relate to anxiety. There are so many to choose from and many of them teach you how to separate negative thoughts from yourself and how to managing anxiety. They completely calm my entire mind and body down! . I especially like doing them at bedtime but I do them a couple times a day. The more you do these the faster your symptoms will go away. I've been able to cut my symptoms by 98% by doing this and a few other things. I like to use earbuds and lie down to listen.
when you're anxious about the heart beat, you must bring yourself to focus on your breathing. There's a reason for this. It takes you away from your symptom and it helps calm down everything. You slowly inhale through your nose for about five seconds and then slowly exhale through your lips like you're blowing out a candle. Concentrate on how the air feels coming in and going out. This keeps you in the present moment away from everything else. Do this anytime you feel anxiety or have negative thoughts.
also I have found that exercise is great for this because it releases a hormone in the brain that calms your body down
. I found that if I stay active and doing some things I enjoy, socialize with people and don't be alone a lot at least in the beginning, and if needed, speak with a counselor who specializes in anxiety. I did that and it really helps to vent to someone else.
there's a great book called mindfulness the teachers you all of this it helps you gain control over what's going on in your mind and body.
don't forget to laugh and smile and try not to take life too seriously. Feel better soon
But it sometimes just happens out the blue when am feeling good thanks for your reply 😊
