Feeling of going crazy

Anyone’s anxiety make them feel like they’re going crazy I get this feeling all of a sudden like I’m spaced out and fearing I will lose touch with reality and lose my mind and not know what’s going on

Yes i get like that 24/7 and its scary like i feel like imgoing to loose control and end up killing myself but then i think positive and breathe but still doesnt stop the 24/7 oanic attacks i bearly started having really bad ones week ago and they haven’t stopped. ;(

What you just said is exactly how I feel too.

The panic attacks will get better. I used to get multiple ones everyday when mine started but I had to go on medication for it to get it under control.  I’m in the process of going back on medication so I can feel normal again.

So the medication did help get them u der control?

Yes I used to feel like that but as long you get your anxiety under control you will be fine. At the end the fact you are scared of its a positive sign your ain't going crazy. Yet many people who go crazy don't go thru stages they just loose it without knowing or fearing it as it seem normal to them. It's just your anxiety making you feel like that it won't happen 😊

I didn’t think I could have so many attacks in one day it’s so tiring and scary I literally feel like I’m going to die at times I try to get myself through them the worse thing is when there over it’s the side affects after it that get down

Yes, Jenna. I feel this thing sometimes and this makes me so scared. But, these all happen to me when I am thinking about something so deeply and I got angry.

I am exactly the same an I hate it it's horrible an I am too scared to take tablets what the doc has given me diazapam and sertraline

Hey Jenna,

Yes, I'm being crippled by it at the moment because I also have obsessions and ruminations over it. I'm m In a very bad place with it right now.

Al

Are you newly on medication or adjusting to a new medication, jenna? That can make you feel 'spacey' for awhile.

Anxiety is no fun, it can really make you feel unusual. In and of itself it can cause the symptoms you describe. You are not going crazy, it's just the condition. I hope you feel better today.

I Was just wondering if anyone on this chat has experienced severe chest pain like today I had a really bad episode of thinking I was having a heart attack it was awful, I’m only 21 and I am a smoker but I wasn’t getting pains anywhere else it was just on my left side of the chest

I've been doing well for the past 18 hours but all of a sudden out of nowhere this feeling of doom hit me again.  It started after people were trash talking me in a video game.  I think years of playing online games and people telling me to die has taken a toll on me.  I'm also stressed about life itself since I don't have a job and i'm worried about automation making society collapse w/ this capitalistic system.  My doctor gave me Zoloft but i stopped taking them after 3 days because they freaked me out too much.  I feel like what i'm feeling is more environmental than genetic.  I'm not 100% sure but i don't think I've ever felt like this before.  I've also read really bad things about Zoloft and question what the point of taking them is when most people eventually get off them.

Thanks yes I just started Prozac on my 2nd week

Then you're feelings are completely understandable. I have been on Prozac for over 25 years, but when I first went on them I experienced the typical side effects. Feeling 'spaced out' is one of them, of course.

Don't worry, side effects only last a few weeks or months at the most. Your body will  adjust to the medicine and you should start feeling a lot better within weeks. I like Paxil, it changed my outlook on life quite a bit. I used to see the worst in everything, I was definitely depressed. Paxil turned that around and-really-saved my life.

Good luck!

I meant 'Paxil', not Prozac. I have been on Paxil for over 25 years. They are very similar, but not identical drugs. Both are SSRI's.

Starting new medications is hard I don’t think I’ll ever get off of mine ignore it works my anxiety is just too bad and too often

I haven’t but have experienced chest tightness and trouble breathing from anxiety I have heard of other people that get chest pain with anxiety

Why did you choose to stop medication and start again?

Hm I’ve suffered from generalized anxiety disorder now for 15 years. I was first placed on celexa which worked great but then it suddenly stopped working last September and caused my anxiety to kick up again. I know how you feel when “doom” hits you.  I did start on Zoloft on a cross taper from 40MG of Celexa to 12.5 MG of celexa till a steady dose of 200MG of Zoloft and it has helped tremendously. I couldn’t say a negative thing about the drug. SSRIs take time to take effect it can take up to 3 months. Back to the original post here, I sometimes always feel like I’m loosing touch with reality, it’s a common symptom of anxiety known as derealization disorder but it will eventually subside.  I am diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, Obsessive Complusive Disorder, Bipolar disorder. It’s tough what we all go through but just try to stick to the meds and hopefully all works out. Best wishes
