Genital herpes diagnoses

Hi, I have been diagnosed with genital herpes about 3 weeks ago. I got a culture test about 5 days after intercourse after I noticed red bumps on the base of my penis shaft. I didn't have any pain or itching or anything. I got a culture test and a swab test and they both came back negative although the nurse said it looked like the sores were healing up. It came from a one night stand with a girl and we did oral and vaginal unprotected. I noticed about a week after we had sex that she had a canker sore on her bottom lip (it could've been a cold sore don't really know the difference) . im assuming its hsv1 if that's the case and im awaiting her igg blood test results to see which type. Otherwise I have to wait a long 3 months to get tested myself. I also was told by my dermatologist that the igg test doesn't even really hello because it doesn't tell you of you actually have it. I have swollen lymph nodes in my groin im tired and don't feel right. I drank alcohol heavily the other day and had to go to the hospital because it aggravated my symptoms. At this point I just want to know definitively if I have herpes and which type because to me it makes a difference. Can I rely on the igg blood test to find out? I am also going to take the test in 3 months (my partner is awaiting her results now). Please help. Thank you!

I have type 1 down there. I've had it for 2.5 years and I've only had 3 outbreaks. The first was the worse and my third lasted like 3 days. It sounds like you have it. But I bet u have type 1 otherwise u wouldn't be questioning it.

She just got her blood test results back and she's negative for both type 1 and 2. My dermatologist said if it comes up again contact him immediately and get a direct test done again. I haven't been with anyone else in months. I saw a dermatologist and he was skeptical that I had herpes. He said don't pursue a blood test but if I have an outbreak to immediately come in and get a direct test done.

I didn't wait 3 months to get igg an the index on test results will show if you have it or not an which type
