I have been having diarrhea every time I go poop. 95% of the time there is blood, sometimes a lot, sometimes less. It seems bright red and darker red (although it could be due to the amount) there is also dark red mucus. There is always a lot of mucus.
I sometimes have cramps in my abdomin.
I was examined by a doctor and he did not find anything.
I am schedualec to have a colonoscopy at the end of March. I can't handle the wait and would like to know some things it could be. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I think you need to visit your doc. Bright red I was told was not a concern but they have said to me if it becomes I need to go back immediately. It could just be haemorrhoids but best to get a proper diagnosis.
I get bad cramps just below my ribs
i have had tests and all say fine too
iBS is much more than tests I have learned over the 5 years I was been unwell.
Colonoscopy is required but I have had a few and they come back all clear
Try keeping a diary for a trigger and drink more water
PS That should say if it becomes darker it is more of a concern.
Hi headerz
I agree with astrozombie. You defo need to go back to ur docs and push them for help.esp ur seeing blood.its only way ive been getting results n someone to care/help. but they could say wait till the colonscopy as that test can rule out alot but also give u best results, as if ibs is a tricky thing. Ive had them done n yes well frustrating when they say its okay cant see anything. But they will take samples n run tests to b on safe side,
For now theres no short fix, trust me ive tried!! But everyone is different with ibs. Its matter of finding what works for u n doesnt. Are u on any meds for this??? Some can help but careful of side effects.
So if u havent do make a food diary or just note when u have ur bad flare ups, pains what have u had or done.keep liquids up. Hope this helps. Keep positive.
I think this is a case where if you are having diarrhoea and passing blood you could be referred on a two week wait. There are a lot of different things it could be.
Bleeding like this is not normal.
I think you should go back to doctor.
Take care and keep in touch
Sarah
YEs I agree push for the test sooner or change Doctors thats what I had to do
I would ask for the colonoscopy to be put forward and emphasise strongly that you are very worried. I had an ultrasound but I couldn't handle a month's NHS wait so I went private. It showed nothing and my celiac and stool tests were also negative. I was diagnosed with IBS after three and a half months.
Blood is not an IBS symptom. It could be caused by any number of things such as haemorrhoids . You could also ask for a fecal calprotectin test to look for Inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohns or Colitis which causes diarrhoea with blood. These conditions would also show up with a colonoscopy.
