Heart palpitations

I was struggling with anxiety for about 6 years and really thought I had cracked it and got my self in a good place. Over the last 4 days I have had constant heart paplatations which have got me panicking. I am looking for advice to see how to over come this strange sensation.

I have found that magnesium is very helpful for palpitations. I take magnesium glycinate and magnesium taurate. I strive to get 400 MG a day and usually split it up between morning and night.

How are you doing? Are you on any meds?

Hi,

No not on meds I refuse to go on them again due to when I had a bad time I struggled to get off them, so I am now just going to do it natural.

Kim,

Thank you did you suffer from them for a long time ?

Mine are hormonal and started about 5 years ago.  They come and go but I would have days when they were pretty persistent.  I found after taking magnesium for several days they basically disappeared.  I will still get them occasionally but not half as bad as before.

Try Breathing Exersizes, Also Mindfulness Relaxation Technique. Has your Health Team suggested these two activities, if not you will find explanations here or on the internet.

Do you have any hobbies or activities you could try to avert your negative concerns

Hi mate,

Yes I go running I do believe when I have a beer they come on more but that’s due to alcohol.

Kim,

I will try that magnesium thank you

Running and sport will help your mood, Sport increases various drugs in your blood supply and lifts the mood.

Keep up the sport of running

Hi JonPaul, when I used to suffer from palpitations one of the things that used to help calm them down/ stop them was to tense the muscles like you were trying to have a bowl movement. Sounds stupid but I got told it by an A&E doctor and it did help!
