I have recovered well from my gallbladder removal surgery in April. However, whenever I eat even small amounts of fats, the pain is gone but I suffer terribly from diarrhea. Usually the next morning. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and is it forever? Is there something I can take, a supplement, to prevent this? Thank you.

Hey Purplegirl, I had my GB removed in 2011 and had diahorreah and pain on and off for about a year. Mine were very random attacks. I obviously watched my fat in take, which incidently isn't high, but I still watched it......I still had attacks, ridiculously as it sounds, mainly eating porridge. I had tests, but the final conclusion was scar tissue. I am happy to say the bouts have subsided and I have infrequent attacks. I have changed my morning food to using a Nutri Bullet and making sure I include apples. The pectin in apples have a calming effect on the gut and being as I haven't changed anything else I I presume this to be what's working for me. My GP did also remind me that it isn't a small op and things do take time to settle bad my body has been coping with sludge for years.
