HELP! Swollen taste buds! :( I think? So painful!

Hi, this is the third time I've had this before and the pain is excruciating! It starts as a few, then a whole cluster of white taste buds appear and stay for a week. I've been to my doctors in the past and they just shrug and say they don't know what it is. I've tried to search on Google and the closest I've found is that they're swollen taste buds. I still don't know why I get them every year, this is the third time too. No painkillers get rid of the pain, I don't know what to do, I can hardly eat or drink, I can't sleep and the pain is unbearable. It's like I've got pins sticking in my tongue 24/7. I spoke to a doctor today and she said take some painkillers. Great help when i haven't even been diagnosed with what this is. Please help if anyone has any ideas. I'll attach a photo to show you what it's like now..

Miranda sorry to hear of your issue. I've personally never heard of this type of issue before.

I wish there were something I could do or say but just don't have an answer. I hope you find a solution to your problem

We all have issues that I wish we all could have solved immediately.... but if it is any relief I'm here, and I'm sure others that are here for you as much we can.
