I feel Sleepy after Having Chocolate

****I have Been observing my self that whenever after eating any kind of chocolate i start feeling sleepy .when i try to study.

Ok, stick with me on this tangent.

Milk chocolate, or any chocolate with high amounts of sugar or just sugar in general will do this. It temporarily raises insulin levels increasing blood sugar, leading to a short energy burst then longer term fatigue. The more sugar you eat, the longer this down will be.

Lower sugar dark chocolate will be fine, as it will contain caffeine, a low risk stimulant which will balance out or even surpass the down from sugar.

If the tiredness is extreme, go to the doctors ASAP and ask for a test to determine if you have diabetes, not many other things cause severe fatigue after eating chocolate. If this was the case, you would need to get onto it quickly before anything gets worse.

If you plan on studying, sugar should be kept to a minimal, it is only beneficial when the system is under high stress so the sugar gets burnt, eg, sports. Sugar will not work as an effective energy boost for studying or more “dormant” activities, it will only inhibit and make you worse off. IF you wish to supplement something to increase cognitive energy, caffeine would be the go to, not too much, but as a stimulant it will actively increase many cognitive factors and thinking. You can also consider healthier things for sugar boosts, such as a banana, which is why it is such a popular snack for those who are active.

Overall just avoid chocolate when studying, or in general unless you’re taking on lower sugar chocolates. We consume far too much sugar as is, it makes everyone tired, un happy, fat and creates unhealthy addictions that the dietary industry chooses to ignore because it causes people to buy more.

Jai is giving you fantastic advice. Take note.
