I am 32 and was diagnosed in 2008 after several trips to my GP and a biopsy. My clitoris is totally fused, the gynaecologists is going to operate to divide the fusing once i'm ready!!!! The condition is a nightmare and does affect your life to a certain extent but its not gonna kill me so i just try and get on with it!!! Dermovate is the only thing that helps me but i don't use ir everyday.
However i have recently found a lump and i am looking for advise, its like a squashed raisan and is to the side of my labia??? do you think it needs checking??
Hi Claire,
I know that you are trying to avoid the Doctors but I really do think it would be a good idea to make an appointment. It's obviously a worry and the chances are that it's completely innocuous but certainly best being on the safe side. AND, you'll feel a lot better knowing.
Stay Well,
John
HI Claire.
I have had LS for about 8 years and have experienced nothing like that. It doesn't sound like a cyst but might be a wart?? It might be something else too so do get it checked out as soon as possible.
I had the lump checked and was just a boil!!! Thank goodness
There we go Claire, all sorted !! Glad it was nothing serious,
Regards,
Great news...erm, not that boils are great, lol, but you know. Load off your mind.
Yes, sorry about that Joodie. I must be the only person who was pleased to hear you had boils !! lol.
Best Regards,
John.
I suffered what I thought was thrush for years and treated myeslf for the same but finally went to see a private doctor at the Wellesly Hospital in cambridge. He took of the very tough left labia which I had scratched into a hard pad and sent it off for hystology. Since taking off the worst area and using so Dermavate cream I am 90% free of it. I do need to use extra lubricant for sex and will use the Alo Vera oil someone else suggest and it might prove the last leg of this journey. While the thick pad of enflamed skin remained I was always scratching, taking it off was an almost cure, see how you get on.
Sould point out the diagnosis was Lichen Schlerosis and removing the worst made life so much easier.
I was diagnosed with LS over 10 years ago after a flare up and a GP visit followed by a biopsy.I am very lucky that I can control it with hydrocortozone cream although have have a bad flare up recently which meant a GP visit. I have noticed over time my clitorous is fusing and have recently asked the GP as I would like to consider surgery. I am being refered to a vulva clinic in Manchester. Has anyone been through this and have any advise as I would prefer to put myself in the hands of someone who is sensitive to the female body and I won't end up looking worse than when I went in !
