33 Male from UK,
For the past 2 years I have had this lump on my penis, its where the shaft meets the head.
I avoided going to the doctors this past 2 years. (which I shouldn't have)
The lump feels hard to touch, and sometimes, like this weekend I get this annoying uncomfortable itch on the head and inside the penis.
The itch makes me feel a bit tense, want to urinate it out, and in the morning want to masturbate. No pain when doing so.
I can urinate without any pain or burning.
No blood coming out.
If I keep pinching and rubbing it, purple spot appears around the veins but soon fades.
The foreskin feels dry, and in there is where most of the itchy discomfort is coming from.
Don't know what to do to drive the itch away for now.
Is this a common symptom of something cancerous?
Hi Redwolf you really should visit your GP they can advise you on it from your photo it's difficult to know what it could be so best to have it checked. Can you retract your foreskin?
yeah, I can retract the foreskin, only thing I can see there is like a small red thing that looks jelly looking or blister, on the top, not sure if that's meant to be there.
I booked an appointment with the GP last Friday and they put me in for this coming Friday. (I think now, I should have asked for an urgent appointment as it may be sooner)
I wouldn't worry too much you have had it a long time the appointment on Friday will be fine. It could be just a cyst but what ever it is it will probably need to be removed. Is it on the inner foreskin or glans?
the bluster thing is on the glans, will wait till the appointment on Friday, the itch has numbed down a little today,thankfully, especially after going for a walk, so hopefully it won't keep annoying me till then.
Let us know how you get on with doctor it's probably just something simple like a cyst so don't worry.
thanks, GP last Friday thought it may be plaque or something that builds up and gets hard and wasn't too concern about the itching, strangely it stopped after I booked an appointment 😅 ,but has come back again, just very mild. He referred me to see a urologist, not sure how long that will take, but should get a letter some day.
Thanks for getting back to me that's good you seen the GP and his not concerned about it. But it still needs to be checked and its good he referred you to the urologist. did the GP retract your foreskin?
no, he only felt where the lump was, I did explained about the itching and redness at the front of the penis.
Ok hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the urologist appointment you could go private? that would speed up the process. Did your doctor give you any cream? I'd keep the area clean maybe don't use any soaps or shower gels though if you get some emollient wash from the chemist and use this.
no, he didn't prescribe any cream for it, I will try some emollient wash, see if that helps. I took antihistamine last night for a different reason, it seems to stop itching today, don't know if that's the reason why. The nearest urologist under the NHS is about an hour away, the private clinics where I could see a urologist is around 3-4 hours from here, hopefully it won't be long.
Yeah try the emollient and just keep it clean anyway. you could try a antifungal cream as well it might help too. Hopefully the appointment won't be too long but unfortunately with the public health system there can be a wait at least where I'm from anyway. If it doesn't improve or gets worse I'd go back to your GP while you wait for the appointment.
