My vaginal area started itching about two weeks ago I have only been with one person over the past 6 months. Then lesions broke out all over my labia clitorus and anus. My doctor did a swab for GH and I am completely convinced that's what this is. Along with everything going on down there I have had awful pains down the back of my legs. I have tried epsom salts baths urinating in the bathtub and a medication that the doctor precribed (starts with a v) which have seemed to help a little. She also gave me lidocaine ointment but that just burns when I put it on ( like brings me to tears)... How can I get these sore to go away any quicker? How long will the pain of the sores last? How long will the leg pains last? Any other remedies I haven't thought of I know about tea tree oil but we don't have any herbal stores around here where else can you get this stuff?
I'm sorry you're going through this right now. It took me about 3 weeks for the outbreak to clear up. But I'm still itchy kinda. It's my first one so I'm still learning. The only thing that got me through the first 2 weeks of the pain of peeing was the lidocaine, it numbs it. So you can pee. I got th flu like symptoms and I got the pain down my butt and leg too.. just about 2 days before it got better. I took baths in Epsom salt and garlic tablets. I also used bacterial zinc ointment. I know everyone is different. Mine was awful, I'm sorry. The end is near. I chose supressive therapy.
Sounds painful! Most first outbreaks last 2-3 weeks. You should be over the worst, especially with the meds (valacyclovir). Leg pain should just be temporary and can vary. Best thing is to keep the sores dry. Epsom salt baths should help dry them out, but don't dry yourself out too much down there. If lidocaine stings, tea tree oil may not be such a good idea for now, as that can also burn. Very good for soothing itchy but less sensitive skin (use diluted). Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. How long has it been since the lesions broke out?
They started on Monday they were very itchy thought I had a yeast infection. Got OCT treatment for that (did nothing obviously). By Wednesday night was in so much pain I couldn't deal. Went to the doctors Thursday and they put me on meds. How much longer do you think? Another week and I might loose my mind.
How long was it before you could urinate without screaming in pain with no lidocaine? The lidocaine just burns like crazy when I put it on .. Just as bad as urinating only the lidocaine burn lasts longer.
Okay, so you are still in your first week, which is the worst. Things should start to noticeably improve in the second week. Third week is almost back to normal, just healing and maybe itching, but no more new sores and most should be gone or nearly gone.
Yup I'm gonna lose my mind.. Please tell me this pain is not as bad as more outbreaks occur.
Painful urination is also markedly better in the second week. Drink lots of water to keep your urine diluted. You may pee more, but diluted pee stings far less. Pouring water down there while peeing also helps.
Recurrences are usually much milder, and if you have genital HSV-1, you will rarely outbreak again, so fingers crossed you have Type 1!
I am back to work tomorrow I think the guys I work with would be a little freaked out of I brought a cup in the bathroom with me every time I go in there. Lol for today I am putting some water in the bathtub and peeing in there ... It's kinda like heaven on earth very little pain.
Fingers crossed but I have a feeling it's gonna be type 2 .. My luck is super bad ... Is it possible he had no clue he has it ... I just want to scream at him.
If you have a small bottle, you can sneak that in. A cup and people might think you're having a coffee on the toilet! Lol
I have Type 2, sigh. If you and your partner are both young, I would put my money on it being Type 1 from oral sex.
I am in my twenties but my parner is almost 60
Is it possible he didn't know he has it?

Hy abcd1234e, This situation is fairly new to me as I just got my diagnosis three weeks ago with no serious outbreak thus far. But the purpose of the website is to lend support and share whatever useful information and experience we have in treating these outbreaks and managing the virus. There are some recommended treatment Options such as:
1. Douching with either iodine or apple cider vinegar twice a day. Try to keep the area dry I have heard of cleaning with hydro peroxide and applying Melissa oil but this can burn, but pure coconut oil can relieve the burning as well as applying cold water to affected areas when urinating.
2. Lifestyle changes, if you continue to focus on the present outbreak and how it looks this will increase your stress level and trigger the outbreak, focus on healing and do research to actively fight the outbreak. Eliminate nuts, corn, rice, oats, chocolate and caffeine.
3. Painkillers such as paracetamol and lanacane ointment
Hope this helps ... MT
Could be either type then. It's possible he doesn't know. Depends on how in tune with his body he is and whether he's the type to brush things off. Most people who are "asymptomatic" carriers actually do have symptoms, they're just not recognised as such and mistaken for something else that's mild, etc. Only about 10% are genuinely asymptomatic. But, yeah, hard to say. I find it hard to believe that my giver never had a clue.
Talking about mostly genital HSV-2, I should add. Oral herpes can be truly asymptomatic.
He says he is scared because if I have it then he has it.. He seems concerned he's going to get a blood test done...also he says he has never seen anything like this in his life.
