New here after a Tia diagnosed

On monday whilst relaxing chatting on the phone i felt a overwhelming sensation hitting me and then sudden double vision . i tried to get up from the sofa but could not walk , head held in my hands . This only lasted perhaps less than a minute and then i called for medical help. I was advised to go to accident and emergency where i had blood pressure taken , that was normal , ecg normal and a ct angiogram also normal. The docs diagnosed a TIA. Now i read that there is a good chance that the next incident could be a full blown stroke. is this inevitable. has anyone here had a tia and been fine with no further incidents? at this stage i am anxious and scared for the future and although i have a loving family feel alone with this. i am 56 yrs old male.
