Oral sex

My question is regarding oral sex. We both have HSV 2 both neg for hsv 1. He wants to have oral sex but Iam so scared. Having hsv2 is enough for me. What are the chances if we do oral sex on each other that we will get it hsv on the mouth/lips.

I believe you can pass HSV2 to your mouth. Just perform/receive oral when you have no signs(sores/tingling). You will be fine.

You can perform oral sex on your partner even if they may have hsv 1; however I would recommend using a dental dam or even a condom when doing so just in case there’s any sores or lesion in his genitals. Dont perform any oral sex if you suspect or see any lesions or sores, that can definitely pass hsv to your mouth. If you’re still worried, talk to a doctor about your situation, they can give you advise and tips.

Hi Ashley
I don’t entirely agree with the two previous replies.
Whilst it is possible for HSV2 to infect the lips, the key here is that you both already have genital HSV2.
This means you will both have HSV2 antibodies. As a result you cant catch it at another site ie your lips.
So I would say have as much oral sex with one another as you like.

You can transfer the sight the sores appear. I wouldn’t recommend doing whatever you want when you have a sore. Yes, you both have HSV2, but that doesn’t mean you should start rubbing sores together needlessly.
